Another tribe... another brother
Torn between his lover and the gun
Another god... another mother
Weeps to justify the damage done

I wonder through the lies and dirt
I wonder, will the meek inherit all the earth?
As truth collides with propaganda
Just another victim on the run

The world outside, all fluff and candour
Seeks to justify the damage done
No wonder, so much pain and hurt
I wonder, will the meek inherit all the earth?

I think there may be..a war in heaven
Paradise beneath the smoking gun
As every saint and small town saviour
Race to justify their chosen one

I wonder, as our world collides
I want to reach out there
Across the great divide

I'm a little tired of people dumping on Robert Plant, either because he was in LZ or isn't performing LZ material. That period represents less than 25% of Plant's music career which is extraordinarily diverse. I encourage you who have an open mind to seek out his work after LZ.

Same here, 7 off the bat, in fact I like the 50 y/o plant a lot, different from his LZ days which is neat, plus he looks like my bro-in-law (who happens to be a HUGE Page fan) so that always makes me smile.  Long Live RP and Short Live COVID19!!

We're in the minority, but I'm with you.

Don't like this song too much either, but what??

Seeing Plant tonight in Atlanta! Hope he plays some zep stuff...
Good for you, and I hope that for you too! Hmmmmm.... I agree that Plant is trying to do something different and more challenging, but to me, it just doesn't "glue together" - it's too experimental for me, or rather includes sounds I don't really like. But kudos to him for doing his thing!

When this song started, what with the lyrics, I thought it was a cover of "Making Whoopie". :roflol:

ok. Plant - still interesting Collins - sucks the soul out of my body
Agreed-No comparison. Plant has grown and experimented with his musical talents. Phil Collin's while talented in a commercial sense is probably living off royalty checks.

Interesting song. Plant's bag of vocal talents truly amazes me. Ok class, here's the essay assignment for the week. Compare and contrast the artistic quality of this aged rocker vs. another like, oh, say Phil Collins.

Interesting how the way people idolize artists often seems inversely proportional to the way they put them down (Hopefully that makes sense, because I did my best to get it right ).
Got to show some respect here. Plant is probably the greatest heavy rock vocalist ever. If you disagree, you might want to check out the Led Zepplin DVD. The fact that he's doing quality work close to 40 f-in years after starting out is amazing. This is not your typical commercial BS that a lot of other 'classic' folks are putting out. I think the voice and the talent is holding up pretty damn well.

Oh, please! This bozo is so far past washed up that he didn't even see it go by. He was great 35 years ago. He's lost it.
Are you related to Physicgenius by any chance? You seem to have the same ability to judge good music. Which is to say almost none. :moon: :whip:

This CD is not just Plant. It is also "The Strange Sensation". They are an excellent band and it is the collaboration and synergy between Plant and the band that make this CD such a treat. That being said, Plant is the best rock singer from the best rock band that ever played. I am amazed at how good he still sounds. All he needed was great songs and a great band and ... wow... I love this CD. I have tickets for the show in Chicago.

Just doesn't do it for me. :stupid:
William Orbit must be involved with this. Sounds like Robert Plant meets Beth Orton at the trailer park.
Heard this song on NPR yesterday - and a Robert Plant interview with Terry Gross
If it doesn't sound like Led Zeppelin II, somebody is bound to give it a 1... Pyro wrote:
I've heard 2 cuts off this CD (thank you, Bill) and really enjoyed them both. A very different sound for Plant. I think I'm really liking it! Surprised someone gave it a 1 though.
Wow, that was good. I'm excited, I just bought tickets on Saturday to see Robert Plant in San Diego on July 21. I've got to go out and get that CD!
Heck yea! Plant; still putting out great music after 38 years as a rock icon. I am definitely am going to check this out. Plant is a great example of how rock stars can age without sucking. Unlike Rod Stewart, Elton John and so many others who are pathetic shells of their once talented songwriting.
Gee, I thought this was rather untalented Plant. I give it a "5", but I think that is a bit of a gift...

Glad to hear RP playing new Plant. Gotta check this CD out!
Wow... this is, like, a lot better than "Big Log"
