Same here about the experimental part!   ..."baroque" -too funny!

ooh cuatro.nosense has chimed in with his witty and clever remarks about MM&W’s musical ability… Where is your genious buddy? lets hear it? put up or shut up dunce.

If only they knew how to use it.

Mon Dieu. This drummer literally has one lick that he plays a only slight variation of for every single song these guys do. Have heard for more range and creativity in high school jazz bands.

What are YOU good at? ...eh?
This reminds me of the in game music of an old pinball game I used to play. It was in the nineties. so I forgot the name.
Of all the complaints in history - sorry the drummer being fucking consistent is the dumbest one I have heard. Get the fuck out of here. MMW is one of the greatest live shows I have ever seen..

EXCELLENT!!  RP introduced me to this band, now I like a LOT of their tunes.  Thanx RP!
one of the many wonderful things about the bartender at Hermanos - his taste in music. Thanks Scott!!

I agree on both counts!

Saw MMW in little 5 in Atlanta in 2007 - great show…

Very good
I always imagine three high school employees at the piano store at the mall coming up with this in the 70's..and end up getting fired for screwing off.

Hmm...this is an angular tune.
Surprising and very interesting :)
GREAT! ...I never heard of them before. ...Thanx RP!

Oddly enjoyable

...or maybe when the computer in there switches the person off... ;-)

Robot porn - I'll remember that :). Puts me in mind of the interesting film Ex Machina, which explicitly and disturbingly mixes sex, gender and mild eroticism with AI.
Interesting where did that come from? A good dac is appreciated here, unusual
Robot Porn Music? Interesting terminology!

Is that a negative or positive criticism?  Anyhow, by 2040, walking will be deemed "unhealthy" and people will no longer be able to turn any computers off.
This reminds me of the kind of music I listened to on my computer before mp3s came along.  It sounds like a mod tracker.
Agree with previous - great album, but this is far from the best track.
I dig MMW.  But this track is not representative of what they do best.  They can play jazz, and funk, and they jam...  They are great, but not this track...  Dont judge them by this one!

Great one!!!
very ok. postmodern reflection of downfall of society (just in case)

100% live drums here. No loops, no samples.

Only slightly varied from their normal template sound.  Couldn't imagine having to listen to a whole album of basically the same song over and over...

Have you ever tried? It's harder than you think.
Great group and album that I got turned onto by listening to RP! Thanks!
This is one of my favorites that they do — reminds me of Amon Tobin's "Supermodified" (similar sound to the track "4 Ton Mantis")
This song sucks!  It takes little talent to congure a tune using electronic beats.
I agree wit the other guys, I thought this was Basement Jaxx track that so divides opinion!  Still, similar and also good.  It's the retro Mellotron and Korg sound that gets me, hints of my youthful love of ELP, early Genesis, etc.

A slight departure from their usual sound but this track really grooves, as does the entire album.

I like the sound of the recycling/garbage truck in the morning better.

I'm really enjoying this song right now. It doesn't do much for my productivity at work, but it's very chill.
No no no!
nice!
I totally expected this one to transition into "Criminal" by Fiona Apple. Some very similar instrumentation in each.

Changing stations on this one... Bye now.

I believe there are some still lingering around; Found this on Wiki-P; The Mellotron experienced a revival of sorts in the 1990s. A variety of bands began using the instrument, including You Am I, Marillion, The Smashing Pumpkins, Oasis, Barenaked Ladies, Incubus, Tori Amos, Nine Inch Nails, Muse, Grandaddy, Tom Waits, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, radio massacre international, Radiohead, Porcupine Tree, Air, Opeth, No-Man and Waterclime. On Porcupine Tree's 2005 album Deadwing, track six is titled "Mellotron Scratch" and includes lyrics about the sound of a Mellotron causing a woman to cry. Porcupine Tree's Steven Wilson prominently used the haunting choral mellotron sounds on No-Man's 2003 album Together We're Stranger. In late '89/'90, R.E.M. laid down those mysterious sounding cello parts that are so prevalent in the cut "Losing My Religion", using the Mellotron.
The Genesis circa '69-'74 recreation band The Musical Box uses a digital sampler of Tony Banks' original Mellotron on tour, as the machines have a tendency to break. A lot.
...mmw just don't do it for me...

This is easily one of the best bands kickin it right now.......Their live shows are where it's at!!!
Listened to this album last night at a little get together, and was asked about 8 times who it was. The whole album is great.

Yes. I was really surprised to hear them do some 'in-studio' stuff for the Beeb Paul Jones R&B show on radio 2 Really funky jazzy-blue.
Alas, poor Yorick

Agreed, and thanks for the sage advice. Nearly everything else from this album rates a 7 for me. Just this one tune doesn't do it. Acceptable at best.

this track has grown on me. MM&W is an all around great band though. very talented musicians.
thanks for the bone bill
Digests your head, and stays there. Very powerful I'd say, however a little too touchy on the acid-synth sometimes.
Like an up-tempo verzh of Glass's KOYANNISQATSI... Spooky, ethereal, like old pipe-organ meets Hammond for an improv,,, Dig it!

I find this track enjoyable. I imagine it would shine a bit more live, which is where this band really stands out imo.
