Many's the time I ran with you down
The rainy roads of our old town
Many the lives we lived in each day
And buried altogether

Don't laugh at me
Don't look away
You'll follow me back
With the sun in your eyes
And on your own
Bedshaped and legs of stone
You'll knock on my door and up we'll go
In white light
I don't think so
But what do I know?
What do I know?
I know

I know you think I'm holding you down
And I've fallen by the wayside now
And I don't understand the same things as you
But I do

Don't laugh at me
Don't look away
You follow me back
With the sun in your eyes
And on your own
Bedshaped and legs of stone
You'll knock on my door and up we'll go
In white light
I don't think so
But what do I know?
What do I know?
I know

Oh and up we'll go
In white light
I don't think so
But what do I know?
What do I know?
I know

Yay for Keane on RP! The most "emo" band I will admit to liking!

{#Good-vibes}
Wow...haven't heard this in a long time...used to play this many times when I got this CD.  Still awesome =)
Fabulous song. Bring on more "British dirgemongers!"
Took me ages to realise there's not even a guitar on this track, but nor does it need it. Sign of a well crafted song.
nicely done..most enjoyable..

Talkin' 'bout my g-g-gen-ner-ray-shun!

Honey, if the birthdate in your profile is correct, you saw 15 a looong time ago, but it's the spirit that counts, and you are definitely young at heart!
If you only knew what I really looked like Second listen, still love this song.
Adolescent or not, I really like this song. . . love this guy's voice.

If Keane is going for that perfect, airy, pop-song that lacks any distortion or any hard edge at all....then they are spot on. It's like spongecake. It tastes best when there is nothing on it. Bland, yet still good in a way.
I don't know... have you listened to some of musical bluefood squeezed outta some pop music stations? Not that I'm recommending it for anything other than pure scientific research, but this song is downright organic ratatouille compared to some stuff I've heard on commercial radio. Nonetheless, compared to RP's offering, and most of the rest of the legit musical world this tune is pretty lightweight. But that's about the worst I can say about it. It's not bad.
Guster called, fill in your 'they sound just like Guster phrase'...HERE.

Couldn't have said it better myself. More mediocre, whiney, pre-pubescent sounding fluff. However, I guess the 15-year-old girls listening to RP need something to swoon over.

Snap, crapple, pop.

The guy can sing a bit
more moaning British dirgemongers I can't help but be a little moved by this song though
Love this band. Their second album is a bit more aggressive. They are part of a collection of bands that I first heard when I was living in the UK.
The cool kids don't like Keane. I've never been one of the cool kids.

Are you automatically equating: high voice = sweet ? Cause the lyrics are pretty damn depressing and morose to fit any adjectives you're using...
i initially liked keane and then became tired of their saccharin sweetness ... but when this song came on, i did not realize it was them and i thought about what a sucker i am for falsettos ...

2 words: crap
Only really like the synth part.
You guys! I really like Keane! Don't wreck it for me with your references to the 80s ( ) or Queen or any of that other ****!!!!
My sister got this album; I listened to the whole thing last night. Meh. I guess she likes britpop more than I do.
Fellow CP70 lovers, REJOICE!!! Keane has brought my favorite instrument back to the forefront. -Synth80s

Ugh. Now I'm gonna think Queen everytime I hear Keane. Why did you have to share that?! I was quite content NOT making that connection. :P You're totally right though.

Quite the evocative image. You have a way with words, Shakylegs!
Really love the chord progression, buy otherwise this is magnolia paint for the ears.

Beautiful Song.
... great album. Nicely played!
I've really enjoyed this album, and the synth break has a great creepy vibe. Certainly not a 'mainstream' sound.
Pretty much 'spot on'

Keane is a good band. They aren't going to save the world, but they write a good pop song. There is always room for a good pop song.
I agree. They're good arrangers as well. I like the sonic landscape of this one a lot ... hills, valleys, sun, rain, day and night.
Mmm. Am loving the vocals, especially during the refrain.
I hear a bit of Freddy Mercury in the vocals.

Absolutely NO WHERE NEAR Radiohead......
Maybe more in the Travis/Coldplay vein...radiohead-influenced let's say....I do dig the tune for what it is though. Great chorus swell.

I did Tuesday night!!! And, yes, they were fantastic!!! The vocals were dead on and some of their new stuff sounded pretty damn good.
It's perfectly mediocre and forgettable.
Frankly, when I'm in a bad mood, I play their album. Full of some good upbeat fun! I like it! They were great in concert (though it's been a long time since I went to a show where the median age was 18 at best. 8-< )
See them live......AMAZING!!

10 from me. I love this song, love this band. All you guys who equate "originality" with "good" are, sometimes, missing the point. Keane has here created a power ballad of the first order, musically gorgeous and precisely executed. It sounds LIKE the stuff on the radio, but only the way my house looks LIKE a similar-style with three stories instead of one. Here's a good way to decide if a song belongs on Radio Paradise. Ask these two questions: a) Is it good? b) Is any other radio station playing it? For this song, the answer to both is No. Thanks, Bill, for being a bit open-minded. (Geez, who ever thought you'd be able to categorize eclectic music lovers into "closed-minded" and "open-minded"?)
Like your style. Songs should stand on their own. Are they then good, forget whatever else you've heard. DOES IT SOUND GOOD?!?!?!?

You don't listen to Virgin Radio UK, right? They play it at least 5 times a day :D But still the song has some charm, in fact I like it :)

I dunno where you got yer ears from, but it does not sound like everything else played on the radio, which is why I like it.
Q: ...and this is good because? A: ...it sounds like everything else on commercial radio... it only half doesn't suck. i'll give it a big 5.0
