Mama says yes, Papa says no,
Make up you mind 'cause I gotta go.
I'm gonna raise hell at the Union Hall,
Drive myself right over the wall.

Rip this joint, gonna save your soul,
Round and round and round we go.
Roll this joint, gonna get down low,
Start my starter, gonna stop the show.
Oh, yeah!

Mister President, Mister Immigration Man,
Let me in, sweetie, to your fair land.
I'm Tampa bound and Memphis too,
Short Fat Fanny is on the loose.
Dig that sound on the radio,
Then slip it right across into Buffalo.
Dick and Pat in ole D.C.,
Well they're gonna hold some shit for me.

Ying yang, you're my thing,
Oh, now, baby, won't you hear me sing.
Flip Flop, fit to drop,
Come on baby, won't you let it rock?

Oh, yeah! Oh, yeah!
From San Jose down to Santa Fe,
Kiss me quick, baby, won'tcha make my day.
Down to New Orleans with the Dixie Dean,
'Cross to Dallas, Texas with the Butter Queen.

Rip this joint, gonna rip yours too,
Some brand new steps and some weight to lose.
Gonna roll this joint, gonna get down low,
Round and round and round we'll go.

Wham, Bham, Birmingham, Alabam' don't give a damn.
Little Rock fit to drop.
Ah, let it rock.

I just KICKED my rating from 9 to 10
My favorite song on this album! I saw them in'72, during their tour for this album, at the Spectrum in Philadelphia! Stevie Wonder was the opening act! ...talk about a GREAT show!!!

 This is a public notice

This comment is 9 years old and H8ter even more condescending than back when hating wasn't cool
Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers and Exile are the best of The Stones.
It is said this is the fastest tempo Stones song

Just finished reading Keith's memoir "Life". If you are even a passing Stones fan, this is a must-read.

Good choice!  Hope the trip was a good one.

The best scream in rock'n'roll.  So glad they re-released this one on 180 gm audiophile vinyl.
Even if this was the only album the Stones ever produced, it would still place them right up there with the best!
Godlike , a nice start this evening, thanks, RP.

Hard not to catch the meaning behind that segue. Nice one. And great choice of a Stones song to use.

I'm feeling pretty darn good now !!!!

Can't wait for the reissue.
Yep!

How about Loving Cup someday?

Definitely a Desert Island Disc for me, too.
One of the few albums that live up to its hype. "Alabam' don't give a damn,
Little Rock don't give a fock..."

yup, tries too hard.

Great opener from one of the top 10 albums of all time.

Right on comment by Bill on the whole "rip off" thing that was dominating the posts on World Party's "Way Down Under". "Rip This Joint" should be the motto of all pop/rock/country...hell even jazz and classical... Really who cares? Just enjoy the music for what it is, a manifestation of human playfulness.
 That's pretty bad
Roll this joint!
w e a k tune.
Wow. They are clearly trying to sound like World Party!
:guitarist: :drummer: :guitarist: :bananapiano: need a killer sax emoticon!
Is he taking the p? A Rolling Stones-sound-alike band followed by the real thing and one of my favourite tracks by The Stones ever! Well done, Bill. www.cubaninlondon.blogspot.com :bananajam: :bananajumprope: :bananapiano: :bananasplit: :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana_2:
2-record set on 1 CD, and what a CD it is!
