I've heard that that line was about Dick Dale who was struggling with cancer at the time. Dale was expected to die but recovered from the illness.

that sure was a fun show. one of my roommates would tape it when he was home for breaks and bring back as much of it as he could. they even made it up here to fairbanks for a show a few years ago. that was a blast, although not quite as good as seeing them in seattle a few years before that.....

Why oh why isn't there more Man Or Astroman on radio paradise? This is far from one of their best songs... come on guys they have like 12 really good albums spanning a decade. They are one of my all time favorite bands I highly recommend checking them out more.
