Nobody searches
Nobody cares somehow
When the loving that you've wasted
Comes raining from a hapless cloud
Then I might stop and look upon your face
Disappear in the sweet sweet gaze
See the living that surrounds me
Dissipate in a violent blaze

Can't you see what you've done to my heart and soul
This is a wasteland now

We spies we slow hands
You put the weights all around your self
We spies oh yeah we slow hands
You put the weights all around your self now

I submit my incentive is romance
I watch the pole dance of the stars
We rejoice because the hurting is so painless
From the distance of passing cars
But I am married to your charms and grace
I just feel crazy like the good old days
You make me want to pick up a guitar
And celebrate the myriad ways that I love you

Can't you see what you've done to my heart and soul
This is a wasteland now

We spies yeah we slow hands
You put the weights all around your self
We spies oh yeah we slow hands
Killer for hire you know not yourself

We spies we slow hands
You put the weights all around your self
We spies oh yeah we slow hands
We retire like nobody else
We spies intimate slow hands
Killer for hire you know not yourself
We spies intimate slow hands
You let the face slap around the self

Yeah! I hear that. I was going to comment that I really don't like this very much, but with Bert fronting the band in my head, it's a lot more fun. "Doin' the uh-uh pigeon..."

Hmm... Just a bit.
the tragically hip channeling franz ferdinand while covering an obscure killers song
They're okay band. When I heard "Obstacle 2", I totally flipped...
anyone pick up the new interpol? any thoughts?
Maybe a little like Bauhaus?
Try to get a hold of a live track...all those lines and booze must have done something to his vocal chords. The albums are great though. celadonstone wrote:
I thought the Interpol singer sounded a little like Bert from Sesame Street. I think he's 'singing'in a style like Morrissey does (Smiths vocalist) but his voice isnt as deep and more 'gameshow buzzer' nasal. But that's just me. That being said I like Interpol, the Smiths and New Order. I havent heard much JD but if I did I would probably like it. The peppy loud rock works for me.
Now I'll chime in with my comparison: the singer sounds very Jello Biafra-ish to me. Also a bit like the guy from the B52s.
The singing style is kinda reminiscent of Jello Biafra in the Dead Kennedys. Anyone else hear that?

alright Paul Banks the lead singer from Interpol sounds like the lead from a group in the 80's called The Smiths listen to a song called How soon is Now

Translation please.
Heart quickening. Outstanding
Joy Division please!

Actually it's just this one song that sounds like Joy Division. Most of their stuff doesn't. They claim Joy Division wasn't an influence at all... Second the request for Joy Division.
there's so much "joy division" than you suppose in interpol (but surely much much more in "the editors")... anyway I agree....more joy division on radio paradise!!!
Haven't we gone throught this already?

I'm in line right behind you. Guess all the songs here can't be great.

Yeah, I like Brit-pop, too, but these guys are from New York...

Was it possible this was mined and ore was extracted for Franz Ferdinand?
Totally. And just as fun and disposable.
Sounds an awful lot like Joy Division/New Order; not one of the best of that succession, either. Not bad, though. I like the atonal singing, and the rhythm's not bad, too.

Ok, the Ian Curtis comparisons I sort of get...especially the first time you hear Interpol. But Morrissey....? No, not really.

Who could that be...hmmmm b/c I Fell Of the Turnip Truck Yesterday!

great hooks. great quirky lyrics. off beat, nasal, postpunk vocals. and, you can dance to it. ferchrissakes, what more can you ask for.
I second that!
grew on me.....
I just had a premonition that I would hate any band called Interpol and it turns out I'm psychic!

Don't bother trying to figure it out. They are both waste of time.
Yes, it has now been a whole year that we have suffered with Interpol. Now I know why the guy from Joy Division killed himself. He knew that we would suffer with crappy imitations....

redeyespy, I'm with you. Life's too short to listen to the ones we want to listen to, let alone the ones that sound like somebody else...
Though I agree with the Joy Division wishes...

Another Coldplay once again!!!!!!!!!(I hate it)
Please excuse me while I make this public announcement: "Interpol sounds nothing remotely like Coldplay. Please ignore the previous comment by the ignorant Radio Paradise listener." Thank you for your attention....

Please don't take the comparison of these guys to Franz Ferdinand too seriously. Franz is poppy kind of stuff that rocks but gets old fast. Interpol is much more solid with their repetitive grooves. Their first album, "Turn on the Bright Lights," is outstanding. I highly recommend. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed with Antics, their second effort.
this dren sounds like 80's new wave band....which one though? Yuck
God, I love Interpol!
they get a grudging 4 for the correct usage of "myriad".
Purely painful, I thought we got rid of this sound in the 80s, please don't haunt me with it today...
they sound good initially, but i just couldn't get that into their cd
I am just glad this brit-pop stuff is getting pop ular again!
Interpol came first, but I don't think they really sound that much alike if you really listen. Interpol has a darker sound while Franz Ferdinand sound more upbeat, almost tongue in cheek/ironic with a lot of their lyrics. Plus FF sounds way more European (the accent, etc). And sure, Interpol sounds kinda like Joy Division and Echo & The Bunnymen, but what band doesn't sound like its influences to some degree?
This SUCKS....change it....hehehehehehe Shut Up Beavis *SMACK*

Ditto. Maybe their next CD will be all "hands" songs.

Since you're so far down the road anyway, fuckitall and pile on some disks by the Doves. :nodhead:
I used to have it as a 2 Now it is an 8 go figure... Good voice...
nice stuff.
