All around me I see what weakness has made
Too much tomorrow I think I'll take all today
Am I a poison?
Am I a thorn in the side?
Am I picture, perfect subject tonight?

I don't need nobody
I don't need the weight of words to find the way
To crash on through
I don't need nobody
I just need to learn the depth or doubt
Of faith to fall into

Here I slumber to awaken my daze
I find convenience in this savior I save
Am I a prison?
Am I a source of dire news?
Am I a picture, perfect reason for you?

I don't need nobody
I don't need the weight of words to find the way
To crash on through
I don't need nobody
I just need to learn the depth or doubt
Of faith to fall into

In this time of substitute
It's my needs I've answered to all the while
And the hope that I invest
Still turns to signals of distress all the while

I don't need nobody
I don't need the weight of words to find the way
To crash on through
I don't need nobody
I just need to learn the depth or doubt
Of faith to fall into

You're all I need
Yeah, and the water runs deep
Yeah, you're all I need
Now, I cry myself to sleep
You're all I need
You're all I need
You're all I need
You're all I need

To me, good, personally relevant stuff, and still sounds as good as when it was all over my musical world. Saw them live in Boulder and they were awesome... Thanks Bill! R P is all I need on a rainy day like today!

Notice how the little fellas all wave in sync? I hope dude enjoys his thousand cd rip. I'm up to about 26,000 songs in my library and still cookin' here on RP. Ain't no place like it......

Now that I've ripped my entire 1000+ CD collection, I've pretty much stopped listening to RP. Songs like this are another big reason.. Sorry RP you're playlist is stale and predictable.
Bye.

I love Collective Soul. I like his voice, and most of the lyrics are interesting. Thanks for including some, Bill. For how many songs they've put out, there are plenty of fantastic ones, and a pretty good variety in the lot as a whole. I especially like putting all 5 discs in the cd changer at once, and putting it on shuffle. Great for cleaning the house. (I use the vaccuum during songs I don't like.)
please make it go away...before I slip into a coma
I think they need to work a little harder on their collection.
I think these guys had some decent ideas when they started, but they sure ran through them quickly. This CD (Dosage) is very similar to the latest from Weezer: a band just about past its prime puts out a CD with a couple of good tunes surrounded by a lot of self-indulgent crap that I never want to hear again.
hey wow - sounds like they borrowed the string arrangement from Dan Fogelberg's "Longer" in the intro.
ouch. major buzzkill after an amazing set.

Well, if it is, then I don't feel bad at all in panning Collective Soul's paint-by-numbers song-writing. Every tune's formulaic, repetitive, contrived, and repetitive. It's also repetitive. It's one thing to find a good thing...it's another to completely beat it to death through overuse. If you think I'm being overly harsh, read through the critical reviews on AMG...the reviewer is literally straining to come up with different ways to say every album sounds the same. He finally gave up on 2000's Blender (calling it "Blander") and just says "One has to wonder where they thought their market was for this release." No thanks. Glad they had their time in the sun. Time's up.
Whoa. Haven't heard their stuff in such a long time. Think I may have to dig out their self-titled album. I miss "Gel", "December" and "The World I Know".

Another example of musical 'production'. I think this song would be fine for a Lexus commercial, cloying, trite and utterly forgettable..
My sentiments exactly. And just because a rock band uses strings doesn't make it automatically more legit.
the best they can do....chun,chun,chun,chun

i miss these guys, they were just wonderful, reminds me of good times being in high school... thanks Bill

I'll second that!!

I have actually had the displeasure of hearing this band live. When they were big with "Shine", "Gel" and others. They are hands down the worst live band I have ever heard. And that is saying something because I've also seen Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chile Peppers and Puddle of Mudd. Nothing against their recordings but those bands all REALLY SUCK live.
The Pumpkins DID suck live. And I was a huge fan, too.

I say yes to this song. Thanks O:)
Beavis: ahhhh, butthead turn it, turn it,...this sucks. Butthead: Uh, huh, huh, huh, uh,..these guys, like work for the missing childrens foundation. Im gonna, like call in, and tell them that your, like missing or something. Beavis: Yeah, yeah, and they'll like give us free milk.
:D
I'd need huge dosage to get through that! Blech!
yuck. songs with this type of repetitive chorus.."YOU'RE ALL I NEED" should be outlawed. gives an incorrect message to the lovers of the world. no one is ALL you need! yes, and i don't like collective soul much either. tolerable, but not inspiring.
Didn't know who this was when I heard it come on. I thought it sounded like Peter Gabriel, though I knew it wasn't him. Still, I like this song. Then Bill played "Solsbury Hill" next.
:sunny.gif:
anyone listened to the new album yet?
Hearing this just inspired me to log off and listen to the album this song came off of. It's a good album!
these guys are barfy. i hate it. everytime i hear collective soul i get nauseous. ew.
Now that's pretty.
holy crap! are you sure that ID3 tag is correct? holy evolution, collective soul! good job!
