There she is on a lifeboat
There she is setting sail
There she is in someone else's dreams

There she is looking beautiful
There she is again
There she is in a mountain stream

Hollywood, wouldn't she?
Hollywood
Hollywood, wouldn't she?
Hollywood

There she is in the kitchen
There she is out at sea
There she is enveloping me

She said she's just a mirror
Said she leads the way
Babble on and dooming me today

Hollywood, wouldn't she?
Hollywood
Hollywood, wouldn't she?
Hollywood

Hollywood, wouldn't she?
Hollywood
Hollywood, wouldn't she?
Hollywood

The sun it sighs
Wave upon wave
In the grass and dew
I dance

Hollywood, wouldn't she?
Hollywood
Hollywood, wouldn't she?
Hollywood

Hollywood, wouldn't she?
Hollywood
Hollywood
Hollywood

And in winter we shall ride
In a pink carriage with blue cushions
Kiss ran down your neck like a little spider
We will find it
Though it is a great traveler

I still listen to World Party on a regular basis all these years later.

I have to say that their music has aged better than the Waterboys, though I love them both.

World Party is underrated.
Whoa - haven't heard this in an age! At least an 8 just for the memories...

Totally agree - it is really a thematic album that deserves to be listened all the way through.  This track still holds up well on it's own IMHO.

One of the songs that drove the nail into the 80's Coffin.  Still pretty fun to listen to, tho.
I'm giving it a 10 just because no one else has yet!
Ooh, takin me back now.  Nice.

Why is this only a 6 average??

its not bad, just not great.  Usually RP rateings tend to be on the high side also.

I could be wrong. But as I understand it, the guitarist from this band has been Sting's sideman for years (guitar).
Not my favorite Whirled Potty but not bad at all either  {#Music}

Wow! This is old school!
This is a great song - and a great CD.

Because it's pretty average song - nothing too special about it, IMO.
Please play more World Party. A Criminally underrated band if there ever was one. Great tune.

Does anyone have any idea where I can get a relatively cheap copy of World Partys's 1st album? Seems like it's out of print - or maybe didn't even make it to CD? Can't find it anywhere.
Why is this only a 6 average??

I'm not as knowledgeable as many of the people commenting but I think this is a great album. I assume the highlighted tracks are the ones RP plays but every track is great and there are better than Hoolywood - like Give I Al Away and Rescue Me - would be great to hear them on RP

THEY WERE ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL ON THAT ONE! ONE OF MY FAVORITE WP SONGS.

Are you saying Baywatch doesn't do it for you...?
I was disappointed with this album as compared to Goodbye Jumbo but after a few listens I found songs like Hollywood and the album grew on me. Good stuff.
please somebody upload "Ship Of Fools" from Private Revolution........
Holly shouldn't.
Pretty weak
Waterboys -> World Party

Ya gotta play more World Party!

I'm enjoying this. Who are these guys?
This might help https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Party Saw them play in '90 on the Goodbye Jumbo tour, wonderful, especially as it was a gig in our student union that we went to with only the vague idea that the lead singer was something to do with Whole of The Moon. A wonderful thing, serendipity.

These guys are great. Kurt Walinger is the singer and guitarist and is pretty much World Party all by himself. I would suggest giving "Goodbye Jumbo" a listen. I think it's their best album, but all of them are great IMHO.
Just got a mental image of the Japanese naval officer from the movie 1941. "Hollywooood!" Nothing against the song, just my mind doing it's usual wanderings...

Another excellent World Party song! :goodvibes.gif:
Recognized this one at the first note. Excellent tune.

Good, not great song from Bang! This is the last album I enjoyed by WP. Egyptology came next, and I just didn't get it. Bang!, Goodbye Jumbo, and Private Revolution are keepers.
Interesting selection. Bang! is a decent album, but I wouldn't say as good as Goodbye Jumbo. "All I Gave" is an excellent track from this CD.
God help me....I LIKE this thin bit of music. I think I've gotten this LA nostalgia now that I live in England.........
Brutal. I was trying to figure out why I was getting so annoyed and then I realized it was this song.
there are much better songs off of this cd than this one... Like 'sooner or later' 'all I gave' and 'sunshine' but this one is OK. What ever happened to these guys?
