I actually like squeaking guitar strings. when I play my acoustic, I realize that my actual playing sucks but am comforted somewhat by the realization that my squeaking is quite good.
Been there.

a beautiful sound .Do they have more like it?
They do - some of their stuff is certainly more "rocking" but they always feature those beautiful Everly-tight harmonies. And they're playing this after Sarah Harmer and Neil Young making it a Canadian singer-songwriter triple-hit. Lovely. TJ

I wonder: how about Leo Kottke? (assuming, of course, that you like Leo). Just a fact of acoustic steel-string guitar playing. In fact, it kind of works with the song - makes it very obvious that there are guitar strings happening in the song.
Wonderful thing

how about foolish things? edit - i like this song very much....nice harmonies.
Is that the strings? I always thought that was the guitarist's thumb squeaking on the back of the guitar neck.
Surprising gems like this is why I listen to RP.
Wow that's a pretty song. The verse is a little blah, but when they go to the chorus, that's just pure and subtle beauty.
Pleasant

Very nice!
Great set continues... please to throw in that ELECTRO-VIOLIN CONCERTO number...
I love their song 'Nebraska'. This isn't as good.
