We get some rules to follow
That and this, these and those
No one knows

We get these pills to swallow
How they stick in your throat
Tastes like gold
Oh, what you do to me
No one knows

And I realize you're mine
Indeed, a fool am I
And I realize you're mine
Indeed, a fool am I, I

I journey through the desert
Of the mind with no hope
I follow

I drift along the ocean
Dead lifeboats in the sun
And come undone
Pleasantly caving in
I come undone

And I realize you're mine
Indeed, a fool am I
And I realize you're mine
Indeed, a fool am I, I

Heaven smiles above me
What a gift here below
But no one knows
The gift that you give to me
No one knows

Pink? Maybe you should consider buying a new monitor.

Take a look at this girl drumming the hell out of her kit on this QOTSA-track.
Youtube-video here

Makes me happy.
Running on all cylinders here!

I was at an 8 on this. +1 to 9 so I can be in your room.
This whole album is really quite fun.

 I see/hear where you are coming from. Neither band are on my fave list, but this track seems better that others that I have dismissed, and he doesn't have Matt's overpowering heavy breathing and whine!

Sublime - the whole album is a 10
Sweet bass line and grunty guitars, I like!

Mr David Grohl
I loved this song, this album, from the day it was released...a long time ago now.

Guess i am with you there. Clear 10
Following this with Mexican Radio was inspired.
Always have rocked. Josh is one of the nicest guys around. His spotlight with Bourdain years ago on No Reservations was killer. And if you haven't ever woken up to kick the day in the ass with You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar, But I feel like a Millionaire" cranked...then you need to experience it.
Missed this band in real time somehow, glad I'm hearing them now on RP in retrospective
It's appropriately heavy and guitar-y, but it swings like a mofo. Love this whole album, have for 15 years.

Many bands try to combine visceral rhythms and, let's say "shouty" singing.  Usually it's a sonic mess.
Here it just works, I can't think of many better examples of how to "do rock", and get it right.

the title of the album is "Songs For The Deaf" afterall

Saw most of this outfit backing Iggy Pop at the Opera House in Denver.  Crazy outfit and fun.  Get Iggy's new Album with these guys,  it's good.

Definitely a classic already for it's time in my book.
... also not to complain but this should ALWAYS be followed by Wall of Voodoo's Mexican Radio.
Well *I* know.
A cornerstone piece of popular rock music of the 2000s.
Always makes me smile {#Bananasplit}
Heck of a band! Yeah! {#Dancingbanana_2}

"Que música (tan) impresionante"
Why does Bill include the intro to the next song "First It Giveth" at the end of "No One Knows". Ya just can't play a song intro but them not play the song. It's just not right.
Great layers of complexity
I'm going to steal this album today
So many bands want to be this band...

The video clip is pretty funny. I tried to link a screenshot from the video, but my companies proxy rates it as pornography {#Confused}

Do you mean The Fall?

Terrific song and great drumming.

What! did you say Dave Grohl is the drummer? Well that explains it now, doesn't it.

QotSA are mostly a bit too heavy for my tastes, but I have always loved this song and the video with Dave Grohl going apeshit on the drums is super. Thanks for playing this.

Yeah, now we rocking in the morning! It' s 10 F in Denver and snowing. I could shred to this tune!

yeaaahhhhhh ! So good. This smiley was made for this song.  {#Drummer}

Are you kidding, 2 9s in a row- lovin' it. Ahh, human diversity.
This song is in the tiny intersection of "things on Radio Paradise" and "things played on the alt / metal rock station I listened to in high school".  Thanks Bill!
Dave rules!!!

Nice! One of the only mainstream hard rock bands with radio play that I love. I could not stand them when this song came out, but they decided to play this album at the bar before a CKY show that I went to in 2002. I have been a fan since. :)
Hear just a few grains of Ramey Zero in this tune?  Great drums....
love rock

This kicks ass, for what it's worth (see above).

Junk
Like it. Let's rock!
Volume won't go any higher.
Oh, hell yeah!
Some of my favorite drumming ever going on here...

Those are some crooked vultures right there...

Word. Though - it won't likely happen on a broad scale. It's too easy just to flame and run. Sadly some people get a kick out of that.

I'm not sure some people know what "ripping-off" means. I've seen several other comments here where someone has been accused of ripping their own music off. People really need to think before they comment. And the whole concept of "ripping-off" gets even more? nuanced the deeper you get into it. I can't really put this down to cultural, language or age differences anymore. What the hell folks?

Either this is a joke or Josh Homme just got accused of ripping himself off? {#Stupid}

Check out this passage from the website for The Desert Sessions.

"Although Homme has often debuted songs at Desert Sessions that would later be re-recorded for Queens studio albums (2), you would be mistaken—oh so sorely mistaken!—to think of Desert Sessions as nothing more than Josh Homme and his drug buddies workshedding Queens material far from the meddlesome and quite possibly unclothed influence of Homme's partner-in-Queens, bassist-vocalist Nick Oliveri. It may be that on occasion—check out the very Queens-ish ‘In My Head...Or Something' and ‘Covered In Punks Blood' —but 9/10 is mostly about novel songwriting collaborations and ensemble playing.

"For me, Desert Sessions is more than the playing, it's the introducing of people to each other, saying, ‘I'll be back in an hour and check in on you guys,'" says Homme. "I love that shit." "

QOTSA does not equal Desert Sessions. One is a group putting out albums, the other is a bunch of guys and gals getting together to have some fun and make some music along the way.

Hmmm .... maybe it is the same thing!

Oh man, I just lost so much respect for QotSA (small 'ot'?)!!!!

Riff

Cool accoustic version here.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Dy56iQd6Jg
I had a lot of respect for QotSA until I found out that half their best songs were ripped off from The Desert Sessions.
Volume up to 9+ even though I am in an office (because it is also after 9 pm).

I just love a chunk of melodic thrash. This reminds me of vintage "Smoke on the Water" Deep Purple, but the backing vocals need, er, a little work...{#Propeller}
This song makes me want to play my son's EA SPORTS NHL Hockey!!!!!!

GO WINGS!!!

Yeah, I think I'll be bumping that to a 9 for its sheer rockin' goodness.

Yup, same here, and volume up to 11 (or at least it would be if I weren't stuck in an office).

No!  This is awesome!  Turn it up till your ears bleed!

this is annoying
That's more like it! Get me through the end of this Friday workday!
KYUSS IS AWESOME TOO!

TRY: WELCOME TO SKY VALLEY - and AND THE CIRCUS LEAVES TOWN

{#Drummer} Lost count of how many times I have heard this but I still love it.
