Que tu m'aimais encore, me l'a-t-on vraiment dit...

Translation (from lyricstranslate.com)

Someone told me that our lives aren't a big thing(*guess it means something important)
They pass on the instant as discolour roses
Someone told me that the time that pass is a bastard
that is making topcoats from our grief
However someone said to me...

Refrain

Who do you still love,
This is someone that've told me that you still love me.
Is it possible then?

Someone told me that the destiny is scoffing at us
dont't give us anything and that promise us everything
Appear that the happiness is only for the reach hands
Then they tighten the hand and find themselves crazy
But someone have told me...

Refrain

But who can tell me that today you are loving me?
I don't remember more it was late in the night,
I'm still hearing the voice, but I don't see anymore the ?points?
"He loves you, it's a secret, don't tell him that I tell you"
You see, someone told me...

Who do you still love, he really told me...
Who do you still love, is it possible then?

I'm puzzled by so many of the negative comments ... about who she is, how much money she has, what she's wearing, etc. I was on my way home from work and heard this song and instantly enjoyed it. It wasn't until I reached for my phone to rate the song a solid 7 that I saw that she is an attractive woman, and being a healthy male I noticed the clothing clinging in a rather pretty spot. But I've no idea of who she is, nor do I understand why it matters. A song is either well made or it's not; it's either got an enjoyable tune or it doesn't; and the singer is either captivating or isn't. I'm thinking this is a three out of three.
Ohmigod she's singing in French what a show-off
can I be shallow here?   she's gorgeous and has a sweet voice too!
Probably one of the worst french singer if we except Mireille Mathieu. No voice, poor lyrics. Her only glory title is to be the spouse of a former president.

Well this is interesting, after 2 years same combination of songs, deja vu feeling

Apparently Carly Simon and Linda Ronstadt were not informed of that.

Never apologize for speaking (writing) broken English.  It means you also speak ANOTHER language.

Speaks volumes of you if nipples are what gets your attention with this song...

One has to look for them in the cover.

This song has been so much played in France, and the lyrics are sooo cheesy... it'd sickening (to my ears)

Almost wrote the exact same comment. You beat me to it by about 9 years! Music is certainly timeless.

Actually, I like the song, but I do hold her being the wife of Sarkozy against her. Nobody should stoop so low.
Beautiful sentiment and story......I like it.....another new song I’ve learned and appreciate
Much better than it oughta be.  You live and learn.

I preferred the spoof version "Quelqu'un m'a dit que tu bandais encore"
Now *that* would be eclectic.
Quelle honte ! Such a shame !

Compare this to most French popular music output and it stands out as rather good.

Anyone who travels in France will know just how bad French popular music can be. . .
I hate this one !!!!
All her albums are very nice, even though she is basically talking through it.  I also have a compilation album that is themed around guitar and vocals of various artists, and she stands out as the best.
Yum.  Shades of Claudine Longet.  Only less murderous.
I love this one :)
I like French and Us song but please stop with Carlita ! PLEASE

Good for the ears...and the eyes.
I'd do her.
The french president's wife !

Mais c'est beau Quand meme
I have no idea what she is saying, but I think I am in love.
I've been listening to RP for a while now.  This is the first song I've heard that I didn't like.  I can tell why she's included, though, after looking at the album cover.  After all, we're only human.
There's so much other french rock band , why taking the worst ! No voice, no music nothing !!!
Remove it from the playlist, it's only soup !
BillG, since you mentioned not daring to say the song title: It's pronounced "Kelkunh* mah dee." :)

*make that a nasal sound; don't say the N. That last syllable almost sounds like a short A, as in cat.

Please, STOP with Carla !
Thank you so much frogy! :)

@helgigermany, I'm pretty sure it's not a political statement.  Just confirmation that Sarkozy is the luckiest man on the planet.  If I had her to come home to every night, I'd have that same look on my face.
I like her voice and the whole arrangement, from time to time. Here it is perfect!

Some One Told Me

One told me that our lives aren't worth much
They pass in an instant like roses wither
One told me that sliding time is a bastard making jackets of our sorrow
And yet someone told me...

Refrain

That you still love me,
It was someone who told me that you still love me.
Is it possible then?

One told me that destiny mocks us
That it gives us nothing and that it promises us everything
It appears that happiness is within reach,
Then one holds out one's hand and one is again found crazy
And yet someone told me...

Refrain

But who is it that told me that you always love me?
I don't remember more it was late in the night
I still here the voice, but I don't still see the features
"He loves you, it's secret, don't tell him that I told you"
You see someone told me...

That you still love me, one really told me...
That you still love me, is it possible still?

Rarely, if ever, am I driven to turn Radio Paradise down.  Good looks and money does not a musician make.  I don't know a word of the French language, but I don't need to; at least in this tune, Carla's constants drove me absolutely bonkers — like fingernails on a chalkboard.
I've been listening to RP for years and never heard this song once. Now I've heard it twice since yesterday. YAY!!
La femme de notre cher président, elle est vraiment partout comme lui...

Love this song — glad to hear it here.

Boycott !
Why listen a song of french president's wife ?  Ok, she sings pretty good (but not a BIG voice ! ), don't u think there's is others french artists who merits to earn money, and not a woman borned rich, ex playmayte, and 1st lady of France ?  BOYCOTT !

Not surprising. The "p" in French is not aspirated, so you wouldn't typically hear a pop in a microphone.
