I like the sound that they've evolved into. 'Genie' is a good example of their embracing some pop sensibilities without going verse-chorus-verse-choruse-etc. The rest of the album has even better examples of evolving into the 21st century while still retaining some of their 80's melodic trademark riffs.

I'm the same way, the band hasn't been the same since they fired Fish. His real name is Derek Dick... I think that's why he stuck with "Fish" (as in 'drinks like a...'). He still does some solo stuff, and I've seen several albums of live half-Marillion/half-solo stuff, too.

A good friend of mine gave me the early-Genesis comparison too, but I don't really hear it. Didn't really like the CD much, but it might be the most beautiful CD box I've ever seen. The version I saw had a CD-sized book that was amazingly well done.
