HAPPY BASTILLE DAY!!!  LeROY!!!
like a sex machine
Godlike groovy sound
Oh man!  Godlike Groove!!!   (good god : )
Funk-Tastic!  {#Bananasplit}
I finally got round to seeing him live in Wolverhampton, way past his best but still awesome, backing band were insanely tight! JB is the worst dancer in the world, I won't hold that against him though1

Damn ...

OK, he has a good band. But that guy screaming in the foreground - him I can lose.
hey, j.b. IS half the band. his feet, his voice, his hips ... wake UP. (or go back to sleep.) ("But that guy screaming in the foreground - him I can lose." ... kinda like saying "i like the drummer, but that guy playing the guitar ... what's his name? hendrix? ... him i can lose.")

i read he used to go through drummers (playing live) the way other drummers go through sticks.
Star Power! 10.

Northern bigot?
C'mon, both of you. James is from the south anyway, and this kind of crap isn't needed here. We can disagree about musical taste without vilifying each other. Or just dance!

God... DAMN! How does he do that! I need a respirator just listening to him. DAMN! Perfect 10's.

Hey, you can't write 5,500 songs (as opposed to Irving Berlin's meager 1,100) if you waste time worrying about lyrical content.
thing is, they're not even really lyrics so much as direction for the rest of band -- he's keeping them together and on-tempo like a conductor in front of an orchestra.

Well........................this is definitely a change of pace from Air - Alone In Kyoto. :)
hells yeah! more funk! we all need a dance break now and then. :D/
JB IS THE MAN! More James Brown, ad some Maceo Parker too....awesome job!!
How can someone give him a 1? His sneezes are worth at least a 6.
I wish RP would offer A LOT MORE OF him! "President of the New Super Heavy Funk" is what I remember he called himself in one of his first albums. This is a nice version of sex machine, though.
DoooooooO NooooooooT StooooooooooooooooooooooooooP!

are all his lyrics this inane and inarticulate ? Probably a lot more interesting live.

Saw him a few years ago in Aberdeen on one of his extremely rare visits to Scotland and yes the lyrics are at best nonsensical. But the concert itself (thanks mainly to his amazing band) was a glitzy extravaganza full of fab funky sounds - still dancing to those rhythms to this day. :notworthy: :D/ :drummer: :guitarist: :D/ :roflol: :jump: :jump: :jump: :jump: :jump: :jump: :roflol:

The man is on fire. Great drums & rhythm. Wish my colleagues weren't around so I could turn it up & loose.

It's like Louis Armstong once said when someone asked him a similar question about jazz - "If you gotta ask, you'll never know". Groovacious, heavy groovocity - he's President Groovage! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
Hot Tub! Burn ma Toe! Yeeeeoooow! Heh! If you interpret inarticulate as FUNKY, everything will fall into place. Heh! Go buy ANY of his greatest hits collections, get loaded, crank it up and lay back and groove. If you can sit still. In case you had never heard it, this kind of rythm and singing are why he has been called the "Godfather of Soul."
Now you've made me have to turn down my volume or I'll get fired!

Yes, why?
"Good God" It's James Brown!
