Cigarettes and chocolate milk
These are just a couple of my cravings
Everything it seems I like's a little bit stronger
A little bit thicker
A little bit harmful for me

If I should buy jellybeans
Have to eat them all in just one sitting
Everything it seems I like's a little bit sweeter
A little bit fatter
A little bit harmful for me

And then there's those other things
Which for several reasons we won't mention
Everything about 'em is a little bit stranger
A little bit harder
A little bit deadly

It isn't very smart
Tends to make one part
So brokenhearted

Sittin' here rememberin' me
Always been a shoe made for the city
Go ahead accuse me of just singin' about places
With scrappy boys' faces
Have general run of the town

Playing with prodigal sons
Takes a lot of sentimental Valiums
Can't expect the world to be your Raggedy Andy
While running on empty
You little old doll with a frown

You got to keep in the game
Retaining mystique while facing forward
I suggest a reading of 'A Lesson in Tightropes'
Or 'Surfing Your High Hopes'
Or 'Adios, Kansas'

It isn't very smart
Tends to make one part
So brokenhearted

Still there's not a show on my back
Holes or a friendly intervention
I'm just a little bit heiress
A little bit Irish
A little bit
Tower of Pisa whenever I see ya
So please be kind
If I'm a mess

Cigarettes and chocolate milk
Cigarettes and chocolate milk

i really like alot of his stuff, but this is pretty bad....it was ok but then got all screechy....I actually had to pull out my earbud

I just love everything he does. True, talented musician.

His voice sounds like it would work on broadway or some musical...but not for sheer musical enjoyment.

I am one that loves Rufus' voice, but this song wouldn't entice me to buy the cd. Saw him last night on Elvis Costello's talk show thing, quite good.
My ears are bleeding.  And not in a good way.
wat een zeikstem, bleehhhh
Noooooooo! Make it stop.

Nicole Atchins can pull this singing style off because she has the lungs to back it up.
Rufus, go home.

I have great tolerance for a wide range of vocal talent, but this rubs me wrongly. Really unpleasant.

I am sure there is a technical term for what I object to. It kind of resonates in my inner ear in a bad way.

I think the term your searching for is laziness. At least that's my take.
What is this drivel?{#Stupid}

God, get over yourself kid!

That is a hilarious saying.  I'm totally appropriating that.  Thanks, Uncle James!  {#Cool}

Nice lyrics, crap voice.

I'll admit the tone of his voice isn't to everyone's taste, but the, I dunno, emotion? that he puts into the lyrics makes it special for me.

Like the song and the sentiment... Rufus' voice... eh, not so much.
You can get this on the "Worst of Emo" collection.
Please, Please tell me why? I've heard of "artistic license" but this is ridculous {#Rolleyes}

Oh yeah.  Dead on.  Obviously others like him, but it pains me.

Nope, just can't handle his voice at 8am. Too much.

Great lyrics, and fun to sing along with.  Way to go, Rufus!

I wonder which Broadway show this tune is from?
Shew. Buzz-killer for my Sunday Morning.

The more I hear the more I like it!

I prefer the post-recovery Refus. Want One & Want Two are fantastic, cosmic, epic!
Sounds like he's bored to death of singing this song.
Who's responsible for the cheezy Casio keyboard sounding riff in the background?? Yuck.
His nasal voice just drives me up the wall.
At last! Been diggin' this song for a few years now.
wow! i can't believe how much i disliked that.
I'll pass.
Definitely worth playing. It's never too late to redeem yourself. =)
Indeed, a gorgeous piece... one that deserves a chance on RP.
Never played? Why? This song is amazing!
