Won't have you see me as your sad sack
Lost my something and I can't get it back
Or a kill on your trophy rack
I checked my schedule now my train is rolling down a track
Past the sadness of the salt flats
To the prospect of the land fat
Or just a lazy orange house cat
On the sofa where I'll be put up
You've been the hole in my sky, my shrinking water supply
Before my well runs dry
I'm going round round round the bend
Fill it up again
I'd like to say that it was clear to me
Love triangle geometry
But in the end it's still a mystery
The placement of affection and the disarray
I gathered up the courage that it took
Made that bed and took one last look
And you could hear the pages flapping in the wind blown
Book of my days, my days
(refrain)
One tank gone second thoughts are on my mind
What's this trip gonna cost me this time
The devil I know is starting to look awfully kind
But the new road is an old friend
Fill it up again
(refrain montage)

I'm a long-time Indigo Girls fan. This new CD is excellent, staying true to their origins but also trying new things. I love the imagery of this song.

Me too.

Like them or hate them, IGs don't fall into the limp whiny predictable acoustic easy listening drivel trap. They keep it crisp and their work is far from simple.
I completely agree. And they are quite talented musicians!
I have several early IG CDs. After a while, they began to all sound the same. BUT, I agree with previous comments that it SOUNDS like they are breaking some new ground and changing up their sound a bit. May have to purchase this one....

LOL! Yep, agree. Pretty nice, catchy tune.

Like may be too strong a wurd - but this is the first IG song that doesn't send me scrambling for ear plugs AND the mute button.

It's good to hear the Girls again.

I've never been an Indigo Girls fan but this is pretty great.
I was sure I didn't care for the Indigo Girls harmonies or songs, but after hearing this one, I too may have to reevaluate...

same here. I think their voices are more in control than usual on this track.

This one's new to me. One of the nicest IG cuts I've heard. Should consider the CD. But so far the amount I hear on RP has been just about right.
I'm fairly unfamiliar to IG, but some of my friends have always liked them...this song makes me think I should reconsider and check out their latest effort.

OMG. I love this song and that's an understatement. Amazing harmonies and phrasing. This is probably my favorite Emily song from this disc. Seriously, if you don't have it yet, GET IT!! GET IT NOW! :goodvibes:
i agree. i don't own any indigo girls myself, but i've been around too many people who listen to IG constantly. heh. and considering all i have heard, i would have to say that w/ this album they have really broken some new ground and continued to refine their sound. this album is IMO their best produced so far.
WHOOO HOOOO Love triangle geometry :?: Fill It up Again :D/ Thought I could beat Gypsy in here. Silly me
