I don't think this is Joe Henry's best work. Although I must say I always enjoy hearing his stuff. A co-worker "turned me on to Joe Henry, and I've since bought a few CDs of his, I think he has an interesting blend of sounds, jazz, rock, folk, etc. Scar and Trampoline are great albums.
I thought this was Marla Glen. And that's not good!
The only thing I can tell you is that I don't see ht esong or his voice growing in me..ever...
Just so that the previous comment won't be all alone...
Joe Henry has never put out anything that I didn't find interesting at the very least, and usually quite likable. He's gone from country/rock to folkie to jazzy to funk noir... quite a chameleon.
For joy....the first comment! Would have gone higher than "8", but I find his voice phrasing a bit of a listening impediement.
Two weeks later and still the only comment. Well, Henry's voice is growing on me! Four months later....starting to dig the voice, too.
