In 2010 I took her in and said I'd love her till
The sky has lost her blue and the rivers all run still.
Followed her till she came in and put her hand in mine.

Then we lived in green fields but now it's just a shame.
Cities which once grew like weeds, now shipwrecks on the plain.
750 days since a drop of rain.

Then came November and my lover hid up rye.
Drank it in the swelter as she laughed as the red sun died.
She said she was gonna leave me and head out to the sea-side.
Catch a cloud and ride.
Never such a thing.

Politicians blamed each other.
The preachers swelled with pride.
The wealthy killed each other and the poor gave up a smile.
Cause 750 days without a drop of rain made everyone the same.

Seeing as there was no drought over the entire Earth over the last seven years, I think this one can go into the museum of failed prophecies of doom, alongside Nostradamus, The Population Bomb, Elizabeth Clare Prophet, The Jupiter Effect, Y2K, and the Mayan calendar thing in December of 2012.
                       Doll Evolution
Only easy on the reins can catch a cloud and ride.

This response is the perfect retort to the type of reasoning exemplified by the bumper sticker "Not every ejaculation deserves a name" that I have seen in the Bay Area. In the sense that Monty Python did it so much better with the classic hit "Not every sperm is sacred". Pure unadulterated nonsense (an oxymoron, since for nonsense to exist, something must have been adulterated) is best countered with your type of comment!

see, that's why it's such a bummer I didn't even manage to see this band at least ONCE while I lived in colorado. the opportunities were of sheer abundance! i read their band's name everywhere there, it felt like they were playing on a weekly basis...but I thought they're just an uninteresting & talentfree local combo...and drove down to denver to see nation-wide, overpaid acts...oh, silly me.

I like this song. an instant 8.

I for one stand corrected, you are absolutely correct, there are no thought processes that lead one to professing to be a conservative.

These days it is the fossil fuel industry using right wing and "libertarian" think tanks to whip up fear and hate in order to protect their wealth and power. And while the modern pukes may not be killing anyone directly, their actions are leading humanity to disaster.

Right-wing hate and stupidity has been used by the wealthy and powerful to protect their wealth and power before. I think it is high time the modern-day "pukes" and their puppetmasters were called out and held to account.

"PUKE"  is what I was my freshman year college, pledge, first semester, getting screamed at at the top of their lungs by 40 other grown men, me standing on ice cubes at 3 am on a Thursday morning, in my boxers.  True story.  I am sure it comes from the military traditions.

Actually, they started out earlier in the '80's. They were a bar band in Boulder, CO and I saw them many times in the early days. Back then, they were pretty good musicians but did not do much more than play bluesy songs with a lot of Stevie Ray Vaughan covers and originals that imitated Vaughan's style on guitar. IMO, good but boring. They soon got to be very popular locally. Their style since going national is quite different from the early stuff, and much better. As to Todd Mohr doing the artwork and production, etc, can you say gigantic egotistical control freak? Because he was back then, arrogant as heck. Nice post. And this is one of the biggest things I have problems with -- people who get their science via politicians, religious figures or professional entertainers. What xkolibuul said. Pick up a magazine or journal that's written by scientists. Attend a talk by a scientist -- your local university probably has them free and open to the public every week. Read a book. -sigh-
Boring as hell.

Oh look, the conspiracy theory. Never heard that one before. Forget about television. If you'd stop surfing the net 24/7 and actually read a few scientific journals (start with Science), you'd realize how rapidly our climate is shifting, and how humankind's fingerprints are all over this trend. Do you really think we can extract most of Earth's geological carbon stores (coal, oil, gas) and burn them up in little more than a century, and not affect the atmosphere? Dissent is normal and constant in science. That's a red herring. The real action is where the scientific consensus is, and how it is shifting. Our understanding of global climate is getting better by the week (to say nothing of '75) and the evidence is now overwhelming that Earth's climate is warming rapidly. There could well be a natural component to this warming (since climate varies naturally) and there is a very good possibility there is a human component. Given how dramatically we're already impacting environmental systems, we're not doing ourselves any favors if we're supercharging a natural warming trend. True arrogance is arguing that 6+ billion people couldn't possibly affect Earth. Oh, and that supposed drastic economic hit from reducing carbon emissions? Sure, if you're working for a coal company. But developing and converting to energy efficient technologies will employ a lot more people than the fossil fuels industry, and save us more $$ too. Its called progress. eyewall wrote:

Wow, my highest rated BHTM tune...and it's a 6. The one tune where their "diversity" really shines through. In other words, it sounds like all their other tunes, but has one or two other bars that stand out. Are there really fans of this band out there, or are they just zombified versions of some other band's fans?

Unsure of this group (which first got together in high school). Anyhow, this was very interesting -
Big Head Todd first came to national prominence in the early ‘90s. With their blend of rock, blues and jazz, they quickly became known for great live performances and a string of outstanding albums. Crimes of Passion continues this string of outstanding albums, with much of the credit going to the songwriting this time around. Todd Park Mohr deserves most of the praise with this release, though. He wrote, recorded, produced and mixed this album. But that is not all: he also designed the album's graphics and shot some of the photos, as well as doing all the paintings which appear for each song on this DVD-A. My only question for him is, when does he find time to sleep?

A very strong Led Zeppelin influence, IMO. It shows in the vocal lines, timbre and guitar arrangements, done in that dark, mystical folk-rock style which Led Zeppelin often performed. Still, unmistakenly BHT and the Monsters!

Great album from Todd. And whomever said it is right, BHTM are great live. I've seen them 5-6 times and never been disappointed, one of their shows (Oct 96 in MSP) ranks as one of my all time favorite shows. (goes back to crossing fingers that he wins the contest)
