Listening to Jane's Addiction on Radio Paradise

Only on RP will Jane's Addiction follow Gillian Welch.....and make sense doing it. Nice move, Bill

Strays was a little bit different than the classic Jane's, but I think it was still good overall. This song in particular was among my favorites in Strays.
But still, I'd probably prefer other Jane's songs rather than this one. Sorry Jane, I'll give it a 6 :(

My three year old son's favorite thing to sing is "...Three....FOUR!!!!" from Oceansize. Yep, Perry has a way with words. I feel fortunate that I was able to see them as much as I did when I did.

Yeah, it has always been a circus at a Jane's show. My first was 1987, the Nothing's Shocking tour at a little bar in Champaign, IL called Mabel's. They were all zoned out; the show started with Up the Beach and Perry chugged a bottle of red wine. Then, during Ted Just Admit It, Perry and Dave Navarro started to make out. It's worth the purchase, but I didn't try to compare it to previous JA work because I don't think much could compare to that.

Knowing hardly any of Jane's Addiction's repertoire, I have to say this one is definitely on the "Who'da Thunk It?" list. I never would have guessed this is JA. I like it.

To repeat what a few have said.. seems OK but not quite as cool as the original stuff... Jane's Addiction is one of those bands I really like a lot but totally understand people hating.

Would be a lot more bearable with almost anyone else singing it...a good song ruined by a scratchy, annoying voice.

I think Strays was one hell of a great cd. This song really is the mellowist thing on there but really, it's a fabulous release, I highly recommend it.

Strays is quite good, although I do like the old stuff slightly better. But this song is not the best one. I had the same fears about buying the new one, but was pleasantly surprised, as (for the same reasons as you) I was not expecting much. Strays is fantastic, imho. this song is by far the tamest (not a bad thing) track on the album. in general it's all very high-energy. lots of great songs. i'll admit to actually getting the chills when i first heard one of the more rockin tracks - not quite as utterly flooring chills as the first time that i heard "Had a Dad" (back in maybe '90?) and knew immediately that the genetics of the music world had been altered forever, but... it's just a damn good album.

Didn't grab me by the scruff of the neck like Nothing's Shocking and Ritual did way back. But most melodic and listenable nonetheless. An enjoyable listen, just not quite as "important" or "revolutionary" as Perry prophesized. For my money, no one touches Steven Perkins' ability to get the tribal essence out of a drum kit. Even in its sparseness, that comes through on this little acoustic tune.
