Someone was round here asking questions about
Someone who looks like you
I said I don't know where you are
It sounded like he was going to be back someday
So I told him where you are

She's making it all come true this time
She's making it all come true this time
She's making it all come true this time

This would not be the first time
This will not be the last
He only knew slow moves in the past
I hope you're not too fast to last

She's making it all come true this time, hold on, She's making it all come true this time
She's making it all come true this time

The Renaissance
Buddy Holly
Sir Walter Raleigh
The BBC
Leonardo
The sixties...

She's making it all come true this time
She's making it all come true this time
She's making it all come true this time

Got to find the brightness in the soul
Not look outside to find out where we are
Or you won't be satisfied
Until you make possessions of the stars

She's making it all come true this time
She's making it all come true this time
She's making it all come true this time

Someone was round here asking questions about Someone who looks like you
I said I don't know where you are
He said that he was going to be back
I told him where you are

She's making it all work out this time
She's making it all work out this time
She's making it all come true this time

This is a good album.  If you will explore the Mick Jagger affect fades pretty quickly.
I love that RP plays his music. If anyone wants to see another underappreciated song used in a great way, "She's the One" is on the excellent Matchmaker (1997) soundtrack...

I saw INXS when they were just starting out in the Belmont 16' Sailing Club in 1980 in Australia and Michael Hutchence swaggered out to grab the microphone just like an early Mick Jagger - swaying, crossed legs, pouting - the whole nine yards.

Michael even tried to copy Mick's vocal style and delivery - but of course he couldn't and eventually developed his own style.

Actually this singer is like what might have happened in a parallel universe where Mick Jagger got singing lessons!
INXS Party!
Man, this song makes me feel great!
One of my favorite RS songs.  At least it was till I found out differently.
I like this, it moves like Jagger! {#Dancingbanana_2}{#Dancingbanana}{#Bananasplit}
This being the only radio station/website on which I might have any chance of hearing this wonderful song as part of their playlist.  So perfect.  Thanks, RP!
This song haunts me.

Mick at his best indeed  {#Guitarist}
Still my favorite WP song.
Haunting and beautiful. Bought the cd in late 1987, or early 1988. Played it the whole time during a memorable trip to Tucson to stay at Ventana Canyon Resort. Little did I know that I would actually live there in 2001....

Definitely has a Mick ring to it.
So wonderful!

Agreed!
Am I the only one thinking this sounds like Cake?

Later....I realize, it was Cake playing, and the site had World Party's All Come True showing on the site.
Amazing song, timeless since it came out!

Totally. Saw them play last month and just kept thinking that.
Way ahead of their time!
Does anyone get the Joseph Arthur vibe?

I read he had an aneurysm a few years back and had to relearn how to play music... apparently hes recovered and putting out a compilation set soon of the World Party gems....
Really underrated band/album.

Give Goodbye Jumbo a try, you won't be disappointed!

Goodbye Jumbo is one of the best, most overlooked albums of the 1990s.
Love World Party and this is one of their best.

Give Goodbye Jumbo a try, you won't be disappointed!
Karl Wallinger... also from the Waterboys.  He's really remarkable.  Unique and beautiful music. Saw him live in Annapolis, MD.  He plays a right-handed Les Paul upside down (left handed) with no pick, just fingering.  His albums are well-worth owning.
Love the weave and play - sounds a little bit like a younger Mick J from the Stones.
I have always loved this song so much. When I hear it, I have to stop what I'm doing and just listen.
This is very nice - I like the way the instruments are used in this - particularly the xylophoney thing at the beginning (and xylophones are tricky with me) and the organ.

Again!

Sounds like some of the better mid-80s Rolling Stones tunes... good
LOVE!!!
I wore this cassette tape out!  Great tune, and record.

I've loved this song for a long time, but never knew who did it until lately.  GOOOOD stuff to listen to on a happy Monday holiday. {#Bounce}

God! I can't really even say WHY I like this song as much as I do....
But the layered harmonies and guitar work, subtle yet powerful, just take me!
Mee toooo, great song.

I really like World Party a lot. They sound like 6 different bands.
Never heer'd this before. Me likes.

No doubt!  I popped over to the web page thinking, now this is a side of the Stones I've never heard only to see,"World Party" at which point I thought who the hell is World Party and how did they get Mick to sing on their track. ;-)

Pretty ok song though... regardless of who it is.

I thought it was INXSs Michael Hutchence...resurrected of course.

Funny, I never heard the Mick similarity until just now, after reading all these comments to the point. Always loved this song as it was part of the soundtrack of me falling in love with one of the finest ladies ever to enter my life. But it always just sounded like Karl Wallenger to me. Was lucky to see them tour this album ...with that beautiful woman at my side.{#Hearteyes}

I never caught the Mick comparison, but it's there ..Roseanne Cash does a wonderful cover of this song....

This doesn't sound like the album mix I recall. Anyone?

Same mix I have on the cd. And a cracking good cd it is too...
Even though I owned this back in the eighties, and re-acquired it recently, I still do a mental double-take, because this song just sounds like the Stones. Period.
Don't know if that was intended, or just happened that way....

This has got to be Mick's other band ala Phil Collins with Brand X.

Or more accurately perhaps, one of the most underrated performers ever.  It's really only one person, after all.

Great tune

I tapped into the playlist to double check....

Me too.  Thought it was one of those old Stones tunes.   Wow.
I went to the computer to see what Stones album this song was on - I thought it sounded unusually gentle for Mick but it still sounds like him.
OK- I don't mind if Bob Marley's kids want to sing like him, but unless this guy is Mick's illegitimate son he really needs to rethink this. Getcher own gig dude.

I always thought this was the Stones, too.
"The Stones" with improved instrumental arrangement - Saw / heard Karl at the original production of Rock Horror Picture Show - I remember wondering "why do these "show tunes" sound so good?
Agreed on Jagger's voice, I tapped into the playlist to double check....
Great band, saw them a couple of times years ago Way ahead of their time More Please
Could have sworn I heard Mick Jagger......
A much better band than they ever got credit for.

I ordered what I thought was a new recording recently. It is a re-release of previous recordings. It really is almost the same as the DVD that came with Dumbing Up. Still good, but not new. I hope Karl has recouped from his anurism (sp?).....

Don't know this band. Thought it was some obscure Stones, parts really sound like Mick.

like it. will i have to go to spun.com once again?
Great tune.
Nothing against World Party but they have much better songs. This one...BLAH, BLAH, BLAH
Friggin GREAT song. Haven't heard it in ages! Thanks for making the afternoon a lot more tolerable, RP.
Great song, great music!
This is the first WP song I ever heard and got to see 'em tour this record. Was just starting a new exciting relationship and all was good. Fond memories connected to this song!

I saw them in concert last summer. It was a local radio station sponsored gig and there were other bands in the lineup too, but WP was the headlining act. So I guess my answer to your question would be yes!

The album cover looks like one of my son's books that go "I see one red ball, a four leaf clover and a baseball bat" - and I love this song, too!
I think those are "I Spy" books?
wow, thought that was david gray when it first started but then I remembered that we've already had one by him today, and the only two-hits-a-day artistes are the likes of peter gabriel and sarah mcblah-chlan (at least according to some of the more outspoken rp'ers)

Man does this song bring back fond memories. I was fortunate to see their first tour back when this record came out. Always quality stuff from Mr. Wallinger and his band.
I met Karl Wallinger during his New York album promotion concert. Very thoughtful dude, very cool concert. Great to see him back after a break for brain surgery!
Nice cut.
Terrific album, terrific song...loved these guys.
Ship of fools is much better than this and this isn't half bad. Another stellar recording, departed from the Waterboys.. with Skinhead O'conner singing backup vocals.
Reminds me of Sophomore year in University. Now, if someone would only burn some "rope" to heighten the experience...
:jump: Hell yes! Great group!
Yes!
SUCCESS!!! All the way through! 10.
Yes!! Please put 'Ship Of Fools' into the rotation too!!!!

I just created a new thread under GENERAL DISCUSSION with the subject (click on it to go to the thread): ~~~ UPLOADED SONGS THAT HAVE ERRORS IN THEM ~~~ If you come across any other songs that have errors, please post to that thread. This will aid in getting them replaced later on with a good version.
