ou know, the sun is in your eyes
And hurricanes and rains
and black and cloudy skies.

You're running up and down that hill.
You turn it on and off at will.
There's nothing here to thrill
or bring you down.
And if you've got no other choice
You know you can follow my voice
through the dark turns and noise
of this wicked little town.

Oh Lady, luck has led you here
and they're so twisted up
they'll twist you up. I fear.

the pious, hateful and devout,
you're turning tricks til you're turned out,
the wind so cold it burns,
you're burning out and blowing round.
And if you've got no other choice
you know you can follow my voice
through the dark turns and noise
of this wicked little town.

The fates are vicious and they're cruel.
You learn too late you've used two wishes
like a fool

and then you're someone you are not,
and Junction City ain't the spot,
remember Mrs. Lot
and when she turned around.
And if you've got no other choice
You know you can follow my voice
through the dark turns and noise
of this wicked little town.

Cool song, fun show.

I was fortunate enough to see Michael C. Hall perform Hedwig in NYC last year....absolutely incredible!  This song guts me!

is that the dude from the New York Dolls?
So glad you played this. The very best song from a damn fine show.
Still loving this.....soft spot in my heart for Hedwig.  Swaying in my chair now.  {#Sunny}
What a great album!  Like many of the other listeners below, I was pretty shocked to hear some of the "Wig" on RP -- much of the rest of the album is quite a bit more hard-edged than typically gets play here -- but I am wonderfully enthused!  Thank you RP, and go ahead, let that trigger finger get a little twitchy and spin some of the other punked out tunes!
Ghehe never expected to hear this here.. awesomeness! ^.^

Umm...  it's from the movie soundtrack.  Are you thinking of the different version by Tommy Gnosis?  It has slightly different music and a different vocalist.

I think you have confused Tommy with his brother Tricky.
Okay, I have 8,000 reasons or more to love RP, but that this on the rotation makes this number exponentially higher.  I almost fell over when I just heard this song start up.  Anything else you want to play from the soundtrack is welcome from this listener, especially "Midnight Radio."
Most of this album is terrific.  Long time fan.
Awesome! Thanks Bill - more Hedwig please.

You gotta get Hed!
Happy feelings :)

I love when RP pulls some show tunes out of the closet and adds them to the mix, and this is such a wonderfully melancholy song for a rainy/foggy/misty day here in Austin.

This is the original broadway version, better than the movie version...

Hell Yeah...how about some of the more rockin tunes to go along w/ this one?
LOVE the Hedwig!

I don't get it.
At the risk of repeating others....Damn, that opening piano bit perked up my ears and brought a smile to my face.
Just a few weeks ago a friend randomly emailed me a YouTube video of "Wig in a Box" and I could listen to that and this pretty much all day. Just perfection.
SO happy to see some of this soundtrack made it to the RP library. There are some additional versions of these songs on an alternate version of the soundtrack that are all covers. I'll have to see about uploading one or two...

10!!!! So much love for this song!!!! Thank you for adding this to the playlist, SO deserved!

Yes, a great tune; this is a different version than the one I uploaded to the LRC (Tommy Gnosis version), there are two versions on the soundtrack - this is a more mellow mix with some different lyrics.  At least it's finally being played - it's been on this playlist for a while.

wtf?
This just brightened up my day.  My favourite song from one of my favourite movies.
Interesting...
This was a song from the little movie that could.  Alberta Watson was, as always, awesome in the movie, to the point where I bought it just on recs from other people.  Once I got past the actors' performances (and it took a LONG time), I started to hear the music.  Weird - sometimes I'll notice the background music before I even register the plot or the actors/actresses.

Good music.  Digging for my copy of "Hedwig...." to watch it again and see/hear what I missed...
Great song! I jumped up and cranked up the volume when I heard this one. Oh, Radio Paradise how I love thee! Thank you, thank you!
