There's a lady in a turban
In a cocaine tree
And she does a dance so rhythmically
She's a crying and a singing
Havin' a time
But don't that cocaine tree look fine

But you gotta put on your sailin' shoes
Put on your sailin' shoes
Everyone will start to cheer
When you put on your sailin' shoes

Doctor, doctor, I feel so bad
This is the worst day I ever had
Have you this misery a very long time?
Well if you if, I'll lay it on the line

But you gotta put on your sailin' shoes
Put on your sailin' shoes
Everyone will hip hooray
When you put on your sailin' shoes

Jedidah
He's got a dime
says he catches more fish every time
Well I've gotta line
If you've got a pole
Well I'll meet you at the fishing hole

But you gotta put on your sailin' shoes
Put on your sailin' shoes
Everyone will start to cheer
When you put on your sailin' shoes

Said, everyone put on
Put on your sailin' shoes

timeless Quality to this Funk!  love everlasting  : )
Wow...... digging up the oldies!!!  Was thinking I hadn't heard this for very many years - and then see that it hasn't even been played on RP for eight years!! What other gems are in the vaults waiting to come out!!

Mind you, I think I prefer the original...

Yeah! What he said.
I've never cared for the (dis)harmonies in this song.

Nothing compares to Little Feat (Lowell), however as flattery goes this imitation is unsurpassed. In fact no other LF song has been done better.
Too right! Let's hear some Little Feat!
Now Playing: Robert Palmer - Sailing Shoes Kirsty MacColl - In These Shoes? Paul Simon - Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes I think I'm beginning to detect a theme here.
You gotta play How Much Fun from this CD! Makes you want to party.
i LOVE Robert Palmer... Thanks Bill!

Yup! ....wish Bill also included "sneakin' sally". That and Clues are probably 2 of my favorite Robert Palmer tunes. ......wow, he heard me! yes! btw - he was part of little feat for a while y'all.

Major flashback to my college dorm, listening to this album in a smoke filled room. You have to understand what a breath of fresh air Robert Palmer was to the disco-laden music scene at the time. Can't believe he's gone already...
Nothing compares to Little Feat (Lowell), however as flatttery goes this imitation is unsurpassed. In fact no other LF song has been done better.
Admirable effort, and I respect his choice of music, but you just can't improve on Lowell George.
Bah. Gimme Little Feat
R.I.P. Considerably underrated, in my opinion. Great cover. Not LF, but pretty damn good.
The original is da bomb. However, this ain't a bad cover, either!
Robert wasn't actualy in the Feats, more of an honorary Foot. He recorded a number of their tunes --a favorite is Trouble-- many backed by the Feats themselves. For some really dandy RP check out Double Fun.

All produced by Alan Toussaint - Bonnie, Lowell, Robert. Give him a listen, and boogie.
Cool! Actual triple-header!
About bloody time...

This triad of songs is the best thing he's ever done, in great degree to Little Feat!
Robert Palmer was 25 when he recorded this. What a voice!
Someone told me Robert Palmer was in Little Feat I never got the conection untill now. I'v never heard this before sounds pretty good. \:D/
