This song just gets better with each listen. Everything comes together beautifully—vocals (lead and harmony), guitar, bass...everything. One of Zevon's best.

Uh, Dude, the album had to be rushed 'cause he was like, uh, dying. Warren was always on the ragged hairy edge, and did not always apply spit and polish to the music (check out Hindu love Gods) nor did he need to. Eul0gy wrote:

I have to agree with rgrace... but not just with this song... zeevon's entire final album is made special only because it was made on his deathbed... if zeevon was not dead... this album wouldn't have made it out of the studio in it's current condition. I can understand what zeevon was trying to capture though... the sound of mortality... but he botched it... the album just sounds rushed.

This song is kind of a bluesy forlorn song. Different for Warren, as most of his last album was. The guitar work on it is excellent. Is that Ry Cooder? Anyway, I like it.

F*ck PC. You don't like this song and that's Ok! I'm curious though, you find songs listenable only if you would listen to them on a pleasant afternoon or evening while relaxing with your wife and kid? IMO, there are a whole lotta great songs that don't fit into that category (and this is one of them).
