"...And now ladies and gentlemen, it is the distinct pleasure of the management to present to you, the evening's star attraction. Here they are back after their exclusive three year tour of Europe, Scandinavia and the sub continent. Won't you welcome from Calumet City Illinios, the show band of Joliet Jake and Elwood Blues.. The Blues Brothers!"
It's actually unlikely that Jake and Elwood came from Cal City. Those accents indicate a distinctly Bridgeport or Canaryville Chicago neighborhood upbringing.
Later, Steve Cropper and Duck Dunn were in the Blues Brothers movie band with Paul Shaffer -- whose real job was the Letterman Late Night bandleader.
Especially if it's snowing. Like today: march 9, 2023.

this one definitely sounds like the file was encoded at a very low level, then re-encoded to meet the 192-requirement. awful sound. terrible.
This is not the original I ever heard, in sound quality or arrangement. But I'm delighted to hear it at all. It's been 52 years since this classic passed into my head. I'll take it any way Bill gets it out of my speakers.

"Time Is Tight" is an instrumental recorded by Booker T. & the M.G.'s for their soundtrack to the 1968 film UpTight.
The group recorded two versions of the song – the shorter (3:14), slower version was released as a single in 1969, and became one of the biggest hits of the group's career, peaking at #7 R&B and #6 Pop.
The longer (4:55) version (which was included on the official soundtrack album) is played at a faster tempo than the single version, and features an extended introduction and an instrumental 'breakdown' section, neither of which was included in the single version.
Oh, PS, I was right, cause now it's John Hiatt "Have a Little Faith in Me". The amazing music will not quit. Nope, it never should either.

Hey kids, put your money down on RP, support this amazing ground-breaking streaming station. Do it! Do it today! DO IT NOW!

The song's last 10 seconds plus the quiet outro is missing, or at least your RP station ID stepped on it un-gracefully.
Heh. Wonder how Booker T feels about his tune being linked to Jake and Elwood instead of his name more directly.
He's probably crying all the way to the bank!
