This and some other TC songs remind me of the group Thunderball.  I just did some digging on Wikipedia to see if they had any connection, and found that the guy who plays guitar and sitar on tour with TC is in a group with some of the guys from Thunderball.  I don't think they've had any songwriting input, but I definitely hear the influence on the "funkier" TC tunes.

I find most of TC's output to be very formulaic. This isn't any different from 90% of their other tracks. I have their first two discs in my collection, but I hardly play them.
