Always respected Joe, but whenever I hear him, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, etc., I wish I was listening to the masters, Jeff Beck or Jimi.
Jimi's dead and Beck is on the same level as Satch. Also consider Steve Morse, from the Dixie Dregs.
He is god like on the guitar just the way his guitar wills you away into his world. hail the king
Man, what a great tune. One of my favorites back in high school. Funny how the guitar wills your mind to insert your own break-up story as lyrics. Joe taught many, many guitarists how to play, including Kirk Hammett (metallica), steve vai, and larry lalonde (primus). Haven't heard any of his stuff in years, but his music back in my high school days was top notch.
Relaxing !! ;)
Holy s**t! I haven\'t heard this since 1991. I really used to like this guy. Blessed by the god of suck now. But he was cool back then.
Good, technically, I guess, but this piece has never done anything for me. In fact, in places it irritates me, what with the mosquito-whiny tone he likes to use.
My all time favorite Satriani tune.
