I had this as part of a British version of those awful compilation series "Now That's What I Call Music."  (Whoops dey it is).  It struck me as crass, trying too hard to cash in by being cool. Rueful head shake...7 for the memories.

I remember this from when MTV was somewhat of a novelty and still did music videos exclusively. I like the song in itself, but nostalgia probably adds some good feelings too. Unfortunately it seems as if music videos have killed good music in the sense that the video/image of the artist seems more important than the music nowadays (at least for "popular" music).

Take it easy, people. Sly Fox is an indie project by Mudbone (Muddy) Cooper—-a respected member of Parliament Funk. He was the one who wrote "Atomic Love Dog."

 

I have talked to him personally on the phone (when he was friends with a former bf), and he is a super nice guy!

This is the reason I listen to RP.  Last played in 2003.  But you know it fits with todays mix.  Maybe there is a reason a cultural reason for it being played today.   Plus it just reminds me that someone is really driving this bus with song selection.

I dig the song.  Yeah if the whole station was this or even 4% more like this it might be too much.  But Bill does it perfectly.  Lighten up.  Obviously Bill has.

Let\'s make it go away – I do appreciate the attempts to introduce curious choices for rotation. There have been some enjoyable 80\'s music fodder that merit a listen because of their significance or novelty but this song has no significance or depth. Sure (to some) it\'s a guilty pleasure but beyond revisiting days gone by I don\'t see any reason to listen to this song. Except to spur on musical debates and comments...
