reminded me of Danny Gatton doing the Simpsons
My classically trained husband just stopped talking mid sentence to ask who that was.
Wonderful fretwork , love the variety on RP....
Fabulous guitar work here.  Nice break from the norm ... as is a lot of RP.

Don't know squat about guitars, but don't these Telecasters sound distinctly like Gibsons?

This was Inspector Gadget? I thought they were aping Peer Gynt's In the Hall of the Mountain King. It was alright to listen to but kind of mislabeled.

The theme song from "Inspector Gadget" has a phrase which closely resembles a phrase from Grieg's "In The Hall of the Mountain King" and was likely inspired by it.  Both phrases are using notes from minor scales but they are two very different songs.  This recording is really not mislabeled.

"In the Hall of the Mountain King" (Norwegian: I Dovregubbens hall) is a piece of orchestral music composed by Edvard Grieg in 1875 as incidental music for the sixth scene of act 2 in Henrik Ibsen's 1867 play Peer Gynt. It was originally part of Opus 23 but was later extracted as the final piece of Peer Gynt, Suite No. 1, Op. 46. Its easily recognizable theme has helped it attain iconic status in popular culture, where it has been arranged by many artists (See Grieg's music in popular culture).

The English translation of the name is not literal. Dovre is a mountainous region in Norway, and "gubbe" translates into (old) man or husband. "Gubbe" is used along with its female counterpart "kjerring" to differentiate male and female trolls, "trollgubbe" and "trollkjerring". In the play, Dovregubben is a troll king that Peer Gynt invents in a fantasy.

Now that's what I call ...

                                                               I don't think I ever called this
Serious talent.  PSD.
This is loads of fun! Thanks, Bill

I was HOPING someone would post an Inspector Gadget pic!  This guitar playing is rather breathtaking.  I can't see Eric Clapton mastering this style. Granted, he has his own, but what a test to his skills it would be for him to try to play this song.

It made me grin and tap my foot, and then, darn it, get up from the computer and do that afore-mentioned geeky "Walk-Like-An-Egyptian" dance move.  Sorry - it's all I know how to do lately.

Love this. Naysayers, go ahead and naysay. It don't make me no never mind. {#Mrgreen}

oohh. Gotta mute. Sorry.  {#Sad}

I heard John Jorgenson play at an internet conference last year.  He plays in the Django style and even played him in a movie. I should upload some of his cd I bought from him in the lobby.

 Blistering !    Let me hear your Telecasters ringing out !

GO GO GADGET VOLUME UP BUTTON !!!{#Bananajam}

fantastic part of music!...playing Fender Telecaster modified guitars

the reason is not perceived because it is so much time closed in the trunk of RP Station......

** 7 / 8 **

It's one of those things where you know the band has skill, but the tune just doesn't do anything for me.
John Jorgenson, the lead guitarist, is absolutely one of the best gypsy jazz guitarist in the biz.  Amazingly good playing....

Which Roy?

Sounds like a modern day Django - not bad!!
Just thought I'd bring this to the attention of RP. But.... I'm the real inspector gadget. HAHA! No seriously, I really am.
That was fairly awful, but it sounded strangely like a Steve Howe solo album I own...can't remember the name...

Hmm... that crap music you're referring to is called jazz. Maybe he just likes to play JAZZ on his geetar, and frankly when you're that good you can play just about anything, including stuff that people who are used to pop rock don't understand nor know how to listen to.
You really nailed it there, andrew; perfectly stated. That problem is quite prevalent, unfortunately. A glance at the comments boards provides ample evidence.
Sounds like Roy!!!!

This says that the Hall Of The Mountain King song is on the "Hell 3: New Axes To Grind" album, but it's not. I can't see it anywhere, just these. So where is it? :) Anybody knows?

Totally agreed. There should be laws against this kind of musical slaughter!

Danny is one of my all-time-favorite guitarists. Guitar Player Magazine once said something to the extent of "This guy is not the next Clapton. He's the next Les Paul." A true innovator and genius, in my opinion. As I have most of his work on CD, I should upload some of his stuff. Typically, and sadly, only guitarists (and me) seem to know his name.
YES - Danny Gatton is also one of my favorite musicians. What a tragedy. ....I am a guitarist but I keep turning people on to him. Most usually have to pick their jaw up off the floor after listening to him ;^)!
Makes me happy, happy, happy!
...did I already say this? OH MY GOD!

Reminds me of the late - great Danny Gatton. That guy could play, and what a super-nice man. Would like to hear something from his classic "88 Elmira St." on RP (anyone have that album for uploads? I only have it on tape).

I wanted to suggest the original for Halloween, and this version was in the playlist all along, but didn't make the Halloween list. Hint. Hint. Hint. For next year.

Yeah, my first thought was "When did RP start playing Les Paul?" I'd heard of (but not heard) the Hellecasters before. Not sure I'd want to listen to hours of their stuff, but as a guitarist, I'm blown away by their technique and playing ability. Play more!
Damn he can play, most likeable.
That was fun! :D

A little Edvard Grieg on RP. Not to bad.
