Here they come! the dogs of lust.
Out of my mind. into my life.
Somebody should be here to hold me
Somebody should be here to show me, show me!

When you're lustful. when you're lonely.
& the heat is rising slowly.

I got it blue. I got it bad.
I got the sweetest sadness I ever had.
As the hours pass before my eyes.
As the hours pass before me.

When you're lustful. when you're lonely.
& the heat is rising slowly.

I keep reaching up
But they drag me back down
Wherever I try to hide
I will always be found

When you're lustful. when you're lonely.
& the heat is rising slowly.

Rising rising rising slowly
Rising rising rising
Rising rising slowly.

Who's on First?
This album was released in my last semester of grad school when we all knew we were graduating and were trying to kill our livers. There's a special place in my heart for this album and this sone.

Seems I couldn't hear the harp for all the noise made by the harmonica.

Hint - one fits to the mouth, the other is a bit bigger and is beloved of the Welsh.

Get it bl**dy right!

Hey! The The! I'll never forget this one morning shortly after I've moved to the city, when I woke up to a really beautifully sunny day and the girl I was sleeping over at, had put "This is the day" (my life will surely change) on the record (!) player - introducing me to a great song of a great band and giving me a really memorable feeling...

I don't know how old you people are, but this is one of the best things to come out of the 90's.  You might consider playing the whole album side, since they do a very nice job with continuity. And the music is irreproachable.  That means good.
note to self: you want to buy this for dancing around the house - trust me - you liked it today

I love The The, and I love this song, but honestly, the harp playing is sucko-barfo on this one.  It's at about the same level as Alannis Morisette's harp playing.

No really, it's true, it's not like that bozo who complained about Beck's playing harp on a song.  What this guy's doing here is pretty amateur hour.   Honestly, it almost sounds like he sampled a few harp notes into a synthesizer and is repeating them.

But the song works overall anyway.

I wanna not like this because of that singer's voice, but somehow it just works for me with the harp.
"I am the Walrus" with a harmonica. (And any time you can get a walrus to play the harmonica, that's a hell of an accomplishment!)
woot woot!!! Shades of John and Julian Lennon....this packs got potential....awe in the Harp zone bossa!!!!!!
Apparently a new album is soon out!
GREAT intro..like a British ambulance
Raw and gritty with an infectious harp......
Always nice to hear something I haven't before, and this actually sounds good. Rates a 5 or so, eh?
Does anyone know what Matt is doing now? We need new music!
