You in the dark
You in the pain
You on the run
Living a hell
Living your ghost
Living your end
Never seem to get in the place that I belong
Don't wanna lose the time, lose the time to come

Whatever you say, it's alright
Whatever you do, it's all good
Whatever you say, it's alright

Silence is not the way
We need to talk about it
If heaven is on the way
If heaven is on the way

You in the sea
On a decline
Breaking the waves
Watching the lights go down
Letting the cables sleep

Whatever you say, it's alright
Whatever you do, it's all good
Whatever you say, it's alright

Silence is not the way
We need to talk about it
If heaven is on the way
We'll wrap the world around it
If heaven is on the way
If heaven is on the way

I'm a stranger in this town
I'm a stranger in this town
I'm a stranger in this town

If heaven is on the way
If heaven is on the way

I'm a stranger in this town
I'm a stranger in this town

Neil Young, the Beatles and ..........Bush??
Thank you for bush.  I haven't heard this in awhile. Good stuff
I always liked this song. A nice surprise to hear it today.
Whoa!  Forgot this band existed and never heard this song before.

It's not about the band.

I miss these guys. . .

This band is not worthy of RP.
Not a big Bush fan, but one of the few songs I really enjoy. Nice.
Bush on RP... thankyou, thankyou, thankyou...
I only really know their singles.  Never heard this before.  These guys really did ROCK!
Marginal song from a marginal group{#Sleep}

One of Bush's better efforts, I give it a 6.
fantastic! keep the good tunes coming, u guys are on a roll!

It could be worse. Gavin could be doing crap like Gwen Stefani, someone who sounded so good with No Doubt and now.... >sigh< so sad

. . . missed it!

I was going to post this - but let me just add my agreement.

Truly. A shame really because the first album was a big favourite and these guys seemed to have so much potential. It could be worse. Gavin could be doing crap like Gwen Stefani, someone who sounded so good with No Doubt and now.... >sigh< so sad
2 artists that it isn't cool to like...Bush and Moby Listen,I'm not a fan of either one,but you young whipper snappers are pretty hard on the dudes.

That weird guitar sound off to the right there sounds like my kid on the baby monitor. Shoot... I keep turning it off to see if he's fussing.
Phone, for me, and I KNEW I didn't have a ringtone that sounded remotely like that, so was weird as hell.
Was ne' Scheisse.
Is cable a simile for your penis?
Bush? I'd change the name right quick.
Shut up you whiney bastard. Grow the hell up and make some good music how I know you know how to do.
Gavin needs to step up and give us more Bush

Deep in the background it sounds a whole lot like the Silversun Pickups' "Rusted Wheel".
NICE!! Thanks Bill! :) (via previous SSPU comment)
Oh my god. Bush is worse than the music in the HofbrÀuhaus in Munich. I need to turn this off.
They are so bad in concert. I've left shows early twice when they were on the program. Once, at a festival, they were the headliner, and as I left I saw a flood of people leaving behind me, apparently with the same reaction.
Wow. I think it's safe to say I haven't listened to Bush since 19...
I'm not a huge Bush fan, but this one is ok.
The first album was phenomenal, the second was good but it was more of the same, and the third and so on . . . no matter how good you can't keep putting out the same album. (right Dave Matthews?)
OH man the memories dragged up with THIS one :(
amazing
I don't like his voice. It sounds like a lot of other crap singers out there. The music drones on, and on, and on. Where are my razor blades.

What an odd rating system.
I just can't like Gavin's whiny, strained voice. It seems a little contrived to me. I can't give it more than a 4 or a 5. Not deplorable but certainly not particularly enjoyable. Watery guitar and pining lyrics a decent song does not make.
the remix from ibiza compilation cd is better IMHO
Thanks for playing a BUSH song that has not been played to death on commercial radio.
4/10..mostly because of their albumcover.
I thought Bush was a heavy-alternative band. This song shows my analysis to be right--a nearly useless tune going nowhere, as opposed to some of their louder stuff.
Something "compelling" about this song...but i can never get passed the fact it's got that "lap dance" feel to it. Trying so desperatly to sound troubled & sexy. Enjoyable but no genius or beleivable feelings in it. Liked that comment about radom word generator for lyrics! hi hi!

i heard that too .... b4 i read your post think it was something in the keys and then notes in the vocal melody made mme think of a JJ tune
if only they would always make tracks of this caliber.

I generally find Bush to be too repetitive to be enjoyable, but this song just pulls me in all the right directions. It's good. I'm a sucker for strings though... (And horns).
Let Bush die with all of the other crappy bands that made "music" in the 90's... well, Glycerine and Greedy Fly were cool songs. But still. Bush = British Nirvana ripoff.
MINUS 5 POINTS for using the phrase "it's all good"
Huh... thought for SURE we were going to hear Roxxy Music next, after CB.'Roxy'.
making me think of Joe Jackson. And that is a compliment
I love this song.

Someone wrote this about another of their tunes, but I really do think they use a random word generator for lyrics. Good album (cd?).
I saw these guys in concert years ago at a small venue. Was a good show til I was pushed out of the room by Gavin's ever expanding ego.
Funny--I couldn't get past the first few songs on this album to find this track....Leave it to Bill--This is pretty good for Gavin

I'm not a big fan either, so I am voting for Kerry. Ba-dum.
One of my faves from Gavin and the crew.
I am not a bush fan at all.. but this song is good. :D

Something about this song caught my attention. Unusual for a first listen. Hope I like it as much the next listen.
The first time I encountered this song was at a dance recital, of all places. A solo dance to Letting the Cables Sleep. Really jumped out from the rest of the spangles 'n tap crap going on. Now I can only see the dancer in the spotlight when I hear this.
The maturation of a band. Well done. Thankfully light years away from the horrific "Everything Zen."
I\'m not a huge fan of Bush but this song is just brilliant. Love the strings in the second verse.
Bush at their best!!!!! Great song. I agree, the cafe del mar version is amazing.
I love this song, but I never could get into the album.
I LOVE THIS SONG!
i love me some bush. what? that\'s the name of a band?
:( snoooze
the remix of this on one of the Cafe Del Mar cd\'s is wonderful - worth checking out, if you like this version. The Cafe Del Mar version is quieter, more intimate, really lovely.
Wow, this is a really good one by Bush. I\'m impressed.
This song gives me chills everytime. edit: and that's a good thing
It\'s an ER song!
Saw these guys live a couple years ago... MOBY opened (if you can believe it). Excellent band, and Gavin Rosdale has an amazing stage presence. Rock on, RP, this is a good one for the eclectic mix!
