A warning sign, I missed the good part then I realized
I started looking and the bubble burst
I started looking for excuses
Come on in, I've got to tell you what a state I'm in
I've got to tell you in my loudest tones
That I started looking for a warning sign

When the truth is I miss you
Yeah, the truth is that I miss you so

A warning sign, you came back to haunt me and I realized
That you were an island and I passed you by
When you were an island to discover
Come on in, I've got to tell you what a state I'm in
I've got to tell you in my loudest tones
That I started looking for a warning sign

When the truth is I miss you
Yeah, the truth is that I miss you so
And I'm tired, I should not have let you go

So I crawl back into your open arms
Yes I crawl back into your open arms
And I crawl back into your open arms
Yes I crawl back into your open arms

Arguing over Coldplay is like Pelosi and McConnell trying to do a second stimulus bill: Nothing ever moves the meter. Bottom line is you can't get away from them. Here or commercial radio or in elevators and dentists' offices. They're that houseguest who can't read the room and overstays the welcome. Coldplay too.

While the comments section here is the place to comment on what you think of a song, good or bad... remember comments like this when you go to pen something about how embarrassing or shitty you think a song is.

So much less annoying to all of those who like each song (and if Bill plays it, you know many/most will like it) if you can be constructive with what you don't like. Or better yet, like your momma hopefully told you, "if you can't say something nice..."
A song doesn't have to be technically or historically significant to be great. "The truth is" this one right here is a great song because of its simplicity and accessibility; and at the same time evoques feelings and times many can relate to.

A 9 in my book.

Sorry for your loss.  Hang in there and push forward, it's all we can do.
This doesn't suck nearly as much as I thought it would.

Wow, I forgot what a great song this was and still is. Just beautiful. Bumping to a 9 today

I'm not a big fan of the band but "hate" is somewhat extreme.  They had some good songs; this one's pretty cool.
Gawd, isn't this bad?
Ah, coldplay from back when coldplay was coldplay, spirits were brave, the stakes were high, men were real men, women were real women and small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri were real small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri.

I like this song very much.  Hah!  There's another one out here.

Not to mention beautifully rendered.

My buddy put this on his annual compilation disc he burns for 2002.  He sends one out to everyone at the end of each year.

It's OK, but I still prefer "The Scientist".

Yes, all hail to censorship, right? Like in the old days, when one was hung from a tree for saying his/her opinion!

YOU do not like it, so one else should like it or listen to it , right!

Cos YOU say whats worth listening to and what not! And who made you God?

Geez, sometimes when I read the postings here I wonder if I am really living 2016, and not 1616!

I think this CD should be banned.

At that time, coldplay was not so popular. I liked them then and now.
Great song live, and in the studio, nice melody. Passionate and heartfelt lyrics, and music to back it up.
IMO this is from one of the top 10 albums of all-time; like 'Wish Were Here'; 'Joshua Tree'; 5 Beatle albums, etc.
Like this one. Deserves more credits than a 7.2.
Coldplay's popular right? Like, mainstream? Yuck.
Horrid vocals, as usual.  Leave the falsetto alone.

Great song, love it :)

Going through a volatile time - this came at the perfect moment. I think I can sleep now. And the Jennys... Thanks, Bill - I think I'll see tomorrow now.
Sweet, dreamy, and enchanting.
Exhibit A for the Coldplay bashers.  I'm OK with Coldplay, but I can surely see where Martin's late falsetto on this cut does not work for everybody...

Always welcome your Coldplay selections—especially since it has become so fashionable to disregard anything they do.  Thanks for keeping so much good stuff in front of us, Bill, even when we are not supposed to want to hear it.

Attention ladies: I love Coldplay.

In a recent Newsweek article, Coldplay front man Chris Martin explained his inferiority complex to label mates Radiohead. "We're like an eager dog just yapping around their heels, and they're trying to kick us away," he joked. "It's like unrequited love. I'm in love with a lot of things. Some of those things love me back. And some of them don't — and one of them is Radiohead."

Not a huge Coldplay fan, but this song is beautifully written.

  I agree — good description of their recent stuff IMHO.

This goes back to when I still liked Coldplay.

But now I just can't seem to care for them.

I'm heavily burned out on Coldplay due to over-airplay from commercial radio. But the fact is, they are an outstanding band. Once known as "Radiohead Lite", they have since commanded their own success and to that I feel they have earned.

This is one of the few Coldplay songs that will stand the test of time! Coldplay sucks, but not this song!{#Clap}
9!  Great Disc!
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz boycott coldplay
I admit i'm falling victim to the Coldplay hysteria....I was enjoying this song, until I realized it was CP...must re-create my own opinions!! {#Frustrated}
Definitely not a good song to hear when you're suffering through a horrible breakup with a serious girlfriend. {#Cry}
Chris Martin's voice is a warning sign for me to mute my speakers for a few minutes...{#Mrgreen}
I'm not a huge Coldplay fan, but this is pretty nice, for them. :)
...and this is also true:

Striking a bit of a chord with me today. Maybe a little too much.
I accidentally made out with a married woman at a party to this song. I should have seen the warning sign *gasping from her friends*... oops.....{#Headache}
I always agree with mister Bobcat! {#Angel}
{#Cry} it's a nice song, when you miss someone

The truth is.........this is a gorgeous song.

I find myself listening to Parachutes a lot lately. It's interesting to compare it to Viva la Vida. Parachutes has some gorgeous songs. "Sparks" melts me every time. But I guess that's for another message board.

This is one of those songs where, when I'm in a level-headed mood I can kinda scoff it off, but if I'm feeling emotional (like today) it has an affect on me and it's kind of hard to take. Damn emotions!
