The first time I ever heard this song was in Australia and was sung on Ian MacNamaras (Maccas) Australia All over show and was done by Either Ian or some other John Denver sounding singer from Oz.  Great funny song.

I used to really hate this song, like why in the hell would anyone advertise that they are totally ignorant of nature, the holiest of holy places on the earth and of basic wilderness survival skills (have fun after the apocalypse, bro!)...but then I realized that if every wilderness hater was spending time in the Great Outdoors, it would no longer be any fun; I'd loathe running into a guy like this at a campsite with his RV with a generator and satellite dish.  So in many ways, I appreciate that chess club and video games keeps folks like this inside so the more nature-inclined types can appreciate the solitude of nature....I'd still like to see John Denver and this guy fight to the death though.
