Get on that gospel train for my lord is coming soon
Get on that gospel train for my lord is coming soon

So you had me going too, any day I've the taste just laughed
On a week of solar wing, getting off on electro-flesh
All the boys and all the girls, making out and taking turns
The sound was going down, I could see how Jesus wept

Get on that gospel train for my lord has come too soon
Watching movies, true blue movies
Get on that gospel train for my lord has come too soon
Watching movies, true blue movies

Exposure on a TV screen, technicolour rainbow kiss
Bruises on his solarplex, baby faced the biting lips
All the boys and all the girls, cutting nice with instant thrills
Insects on incest friends, heaven dressed the Judas spit

Get on that gospel train for my lord has come too soon
Watching movies, true blue movies
Get on that gospel train for my lord has come too soon
Watching movies, true blue movies

So whatever happened to love talk and polite remarks
Mind willing and her body weak, she's a star in a galaxy of real go fast
I'm the boy on all the girls, taking off their Bible belts
Storm girls on self destruct, and I can see how Jesus felt

Get on that gospel train for my lord has come too soon
Watching movies, true blue movies

Reminds of this news article this week ;)
blah, nice safe alternative... I'd expect this on the more progressive clearchannel stations.

A little bit too bumpy for the elevator....Old Navy sounds just about right.
This song would be great to shop at Old Navy to, but not on RP
Repetitive noise, but not rhythmic enough to hold my interest

Actually, they took that name from the Beastie Boys, who used to pay people to go out and procure gym shoes for them while on tour. People-who-purchased-gym-shoes-for-them = sneaker pimps. Then again, if you're offended by the concept of a blue movie, chances are that finding out "Sneaker Pimps" is an hommage to the Beastie Boys rather than prostitution won't win you over at all.
I like this song too. Very boppy. (bopping your head up and down)
I'll pass on this, thank you.
Cool song... Like the lyrics and sounds...
Top candidate for worst song in the rotation!!! :verymad:
Very different - I enjoyed it.
Six Underground is great. This is shite.
lets see what new icons there are for this: :P and of course the venerable yep, I like the comments on the beta site!
Actually watching Blue Movies would be a hell of a lot more interesting than this tune. Of course, so would a high colonic!

It's so much easier that way, isn't it? Just bend over and take it.

Hmmm, I must say the tantric attitude is intriguing. Nevertheless this song is great!!

THe Sneaker Pimps have tons of great stuff, which means even more stuff I feel obligated to upload... So much music, so little time...
I agree with both Melissa and Dundee. In general, when the group has such a name and the cut has such a name, I expect that the lyrics will offend me. Now that I listen more closely . . . the song at first seems sacrilegious, but now I think it is about hypocrisy among those who proclaim virtuousness . . . a sentiment I have to share despite my aversion to pimps and blue movies. The song must be some sort of arch social commentary, including maybe some self-mockery and irony. At that intellectual level, I would have to overcome my initial bias against. Leaving the words aside, it has some intriguing musicality . . . so I will leave the jury out on this group and ruminate. I need a "hmmmm" symbol to use here, showing pondering.
I don't miss Kelli all that much. Her voice was a bit too baby-like for my taste. The Pimps are still a really good band.
Have to agree with others.... kelli made the band a little better... this song\'s ok.. but could be better to..
Bring back Kelli Dayton!!!! sneaker pimps just aren\'t the same without her.
each time i hear this i up my rating for it.
this is probably the first song i\'ve heard from this group. I really like it. Reminds me a bit of Stereo MCs.
like fingernails on a chalkboard truly irritating
I have to assume that they have written more than just this one song... Not a bad tune, but it\'s getting old.
Had my attention immediately - which is _not_ why I\'m listening at 9 in the morning. Very compelling. Just sitting here listening, now, which is kinda too bad, \'cause it\'s not quite so compelling when the repetitive lyrics are out front. Good stuff, Bill.
First time i caught this...great groove from the opening bass riff till the end.
Wonderful to hear from somewhere other than my hard drive... An excellent song. This is the reason corporate radio sucks... we\'ll never hear this there. We heard \"6 Underground\" on regular radio in the NY area but that was back in the mid 90\'s... a whole different world when it comes to music. Before the mergers took their toll...
I think this is the first time I have heard a song from this band. I like it and I want to check out more of their stuff now.
