I remember a frank interview when this came out, she said she hated the album because she was contractually obliged by the record company to release an album that year and had no help making it hence a collection of karaoke.    It is Anne Lennox, but I still hear karaoke.   It sold 6 million copies.

I honestly have never been able so stand her voice.  It just does not work for me.  I suppose she can sing very well if you were to ask a voice coach or something, but that means nothing to me if it makes me unhappy. Admittedly I do get satisfaction to not like someone who most people seem to adore, but it is nothing but a pleasant side effect and not manufactured to seem non conformist.

A wee bit too polished for my tastes. If I had an analogy for Lennox, I would say that she is the female Sting. Strong artist, great/original early material that has become increasingly slick and mainstream over time.

Of course none of us are getting any younger and I haven't personally had an original thought in ten years...lol.

I lot of the time I just don't get Annie Lennox. I like some of the old Eurythmics songs, but I think that was more to do with the songs and arrangements than the voice. A couple of recent performances on UK TV have made me cringe and switch channels. Is anyone with me?

I like the eloquence that some of the listeners have when they express their likes or dislikes.  The originality of the negative comment tied to the song can be quite funny sometimes.  While I don't agree with them, I would much rather see a comment by PhysicsGenius or Excelsior over ManBirdExperiment any day.  Jeez, I get tired of seeing that picture.

P.S.  I'm guessing that the tattoo on Annie's forehead is so when she passes people on the street they'll know who she is because if it was for her to remember who she was when she looked in the mirror it's backward.{#Cheesygrin}
