If I had my time again
I would do it all the same
And not change a single thing
Even when I was to blame
For the heartache and the pain
That I caused throughout my years
How I loved to be your man
Through the laughter and the tears

(Chorus)
Situation no win
Rush for a change of atmosphere
I cover the walls so I give in
Gotta get myself right out of here

Now I'm fully clothed
And I know where it's at
Somehow I stay thin
While the other guys got fat
All the chances that I've blown
And the times that I've been down
I didn't get too high
Kept my feet on the ground

(Repeat Chorus)

(interlude) yes, it's delightful, delightful
"Rush for a change of atmosphere....."
.. I wish I could sing like that. Not everything is singing you know.
The only important thing these days, is rhythm and melody. Rhythm ...
And melody.
.. A time to laugh
A time to cry

And of all my friends
You've been the best to me
Soon will be the thing
When I will pay you handsomely
Broken hearts are hard to mend
You know I've had my share
But life just carries on
Even when I'm not there

(Repeat chorus x2)

Gotta get myself right
Gotta get myself right
Gotta get myself right
Outta here
Gotta get myself right
Gotta get myself right
Gotta get myself right
Outta here

Awesome :)

Yeah me, too.  And the Who's organ cut (BabaYaga?).  And Peter Sellers?  And those hairdos?  Wacked.  And sooooo much fun.
Awesome!
Great, Great, Great! . . . sounds like the Clash {#Rolleyes} and is equally as good!  Fun group, Peter Sellers and that guy who says "A time to laugh, a time to cry . . . "  Awesome!

ALWAYS loved this song.

Not that anyone asked, but that sample is Peter Sellers. I had the album it's sampled from while growing up, loved it, but thought it was the one of the most obscure things in existence. So I was floored when I first heard this track from BAD. It was like an in-joke.

This actually has some kind of reprise after the mumbling part ... Not my cup of tea.
I wish I could sing like that. Yeah, I'm even worse.
Boogity, boogity, boogity, sliiiiiiide.
Headache in the making
I saw them too - yes they were fantastic! Best show I've seen in years. They were obviously having a great time too.

Ah yes, early 90's fashion and appearance.  I really want to be dead when that look comes back.  I already had to live through the 80's fashion come back (I barely experienced it the first time really) and it was bad enough.
PRETTY GOOD - B.A.D.!
Propellerheads and now B.A.D.?

My kids are going to be exhausted from all this dancing!

I'm sure Bill is gonna put some The Who stuff after this one. SURE!

I'm kinda lost in the supermarket myself.
This is a real blast from the past.  And as others have said, the Who segue is great!

How I loved being the "cool" guy in college when I introduced this band to my classmates in 3D animation class, working on a Cubicomp.

LOL! We saw these guys at The Bayou in DC touring behind their first album. Incredible live show. Concluded with Prince's "1999." Very cool.

Hey, I caught them on that same tour, at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz... memorable show - really, really fun band live.

Sounds like the Clash, but not a tenth as good. Goes on a bit, though - as Joe Strummer said, "f*ckin' long, innit?"
I heard the keyboard part from the beginning of Baba O'Riley in the middle of this song.  Did they properly cite this? {#Angel}

How could this one be so good and the last one so bad? (don't even remember the name of the last B.A.D. tune Bill played, but it was just a few hours ago).  Diggin this one. 8

I thought this unusual piece would have lots of critics and praise.  I was surprised to see almost all praise.
A very creative and original piece that holds up well after these years.
A 7 from me.
Haven't heard this song in years! Love it!
Way before my time of realizing who Mick Jones was back in the mid-80's but this was the future before I even knew I was living in the past; fantastic!!
this particular version is GREAT!!!!

WEEE!!!  THIS IS A FUN LITTLE RIDE.

I saw them opening for U2 in 1987...what a crazy gang!
I love this song and it has been so long since i have heard it. Thanks RP.
What an interesting track. I thought I knew BAD's work but I seem to have missed this album.
Haven't heard this in a while!
Long time ago...
i forgot how good this was
Oh man, does this song bring back memories! 1992, dancing to this at about 2:00 AM at some sweaty upstairs club in Chicago. Ah, those were the days.
Excelent! Brings up memories when cranking this up, leaving a bad Job every day...until I did leave.

WTF? How many different songs are in this song?
So I am 14 and dancing on my friends water bed to B.A.D. and fall off and hit my back on the register. No good scar but, love this song to this day.
This is BAD II, which IMHO is where Mick the (new) boys started running out of gas. The original lineup's 1st two BAD albums were their best, and the show they put on at the Channel in Boston in 1986 still tops my all-time greatest concert list.
The horses are on the track!

ROOOOX
I had not heard this version before. Hmm. Jury's out until I hear it again.
Good to hear this full-length version. I have this track from the Planet BAD greatest hits album, which has the single edit version. That's good too, but unfortunately it lacks the part where the narrator talks about "rhythym and melody".
I bought this disc when it first came out, as I was already a BAD fan, but my favorite is still Megatop Phoenix. I enjoy the samples, the sound effects, the sense of humor, pluse they produced some very catchy rock. "Innocent Child" from this disc would also be a good addition to this station. I've never figured out how to upload music here, yet. Any roadsigns to follow?
Sing Michael sing....
Thought it was a previously unknown Clash song at first. Good stuff!
Great song. WHen B.A.D. first came out, I had some trouble with them not being The Clash redux. It took some recalibration of my ears to appreciate them. Looking back, these guys were very inniovative with their use of samples, etc., that was not really happening in the rock world.

Let it out, Mick.
I just wish Mick Jones would get his act together again and write more songs like this. Come on Mick, you can do it!!!
How many movies used this song in one scene or another?
Ruuussshhhh for tha change in atmosphereeeeuuuuaaaeeaaauuuuurrrrrr!!!!!!:o Man I haven't heard this in a while. Great tune.
Excellent album. More B.A.D.

It was Salvador Dali...Picasso was a lot more modest than that, he understood that in the creative process you are always taking something from someone, creation by pure inspiration is a delusion.
What a great surprise. I love this song. Saw 'em live once. Mick Jones could play the guitar.

not bad. i like the sampling. the lyrics leave much to be desired. fun song, though.

It is called sampling a portion on the melody..the song is totally different..is that clear now?
Right -- I think it's like Picasso said: "good artists copy, gread artists steal." Well, I believe in a difference between inspiration and theft. But I am so materialistic.
Now what s so bizarre about playing Baba O riley after..
It's bizarre that they always play Baba O'Riley afterwards. But well, at least I now know when I have to turn the volume up because a smashing song is a-coming.
This was produced during a spate of "sampling" in the music industry. There are no less than 8 different sampled songs in this track -- B.A.D. intended it that way, to poke fun at those who sampled. Does that clear matters a little? Konrad wrote:
Sorry -- did I get that right? This track basically consisted of the melody and instrumentation of "Teenage Wasteland" by The Who? Which is, additionally, played immediately afterwards. Bizarre.

yeah. i remembered that it was the who, but i forgot what song. heh.
I think this is a lousy song. And I like this band. I saw them on tour for their first album. I'd much rather hear "Come on every beat box."
A classic track to my "just-pre-gen-x" ears. Happy college radio DJ memories.

Great fun to find this on RP. Much less serious than the Clash(that is not a knock by any stretch). PLANET B.A.D. is a fine greatest hits collection. Would love to hear "The Globe" here too!
BAD. More excellent stuff from Mick and the boys.
Hmmm....I wish I could sing like that.
Great to hear B.A.D. again. They had several great albums in the mid-late 80s. Great use of sampling plus excellent rythms including world beat, dance and funk.
