Company, always on the run
Destiny is the rising sun
I was born six-gun in my hand
Behind a gun I make my final stand
That's why they call me

Bad company and I can't deny
Bad company 'til the day I die
'Til the day I die
'Til the day I die

Rebel souls, deserters we are called
Chose a gun and threw away the sun
Now these towns, they all know our name
Six-gun sound is our claim to fame
I can hear them say

Bad company and I won't deny
Bad, bad Company 'til the day I die
'Til the day I die.

Hey, hey, bad company, I can't deny
Bad company 'til the day I die
And I said
It's bad company
Oh yeah, yeah
Bad company 'til the day I die

Tell me you're not a thief
Oh, but I'm bad company
It's the way I play
Dirty for dirty
Oh, somebody double crossed me
Double cross
Double cross
Yeah, we're bad company
Kill in cold blood

This is pretty cheesy. I still like it.
Been here for decades and never heard this playing. I am not much for classic rock, but this band was great!

Band name, album name, and song name. LOL
Well, they didn't break their brains thinking about names

True enough. The influence of Free is clear in Bad Company's work. I was a big fan of both back in my adolescence, as they invoked images of a mythical US with bad dudes riding convertibles thousands of miles across the continent, stopping every night in seedy motels where they'd drink beer and whiskey, shoot pool and pick up local talent. What these days you'd call 'Americana'... ;-)

Maybe I ought to try to find this album in my local CD store (yes, we still have one here in Nottingham) just for the nostalgia.

Er, um, convertibles? Surely you mean, eh, choppers?

Both the Bad Company and Talk Talk example are the extremely rare trifecta of band name/album title/song title combo.. an example of an exacta would be "They Might Be Giants' by They Might Be Giants,

Add to that, "Iron Maiden", by Iron Maiden, on their debut album, Iron Maiden.
Five Finger Death Punch do a pretty good version of this IMO.    Would be fun to hear it here on RP,......really push the boundaries of 'eclectic' .

If you really like Paul Rogers' voice, you owe it to yourself to dig into the material of Free. An incredibly underappreciated band in the Americas, but at one time in England were more popular than the Stones. There is a great discography and song portfolio that goes well past "All Right Now". Check it out, you won't be disappointed by the rock/blues subtlety and marvelous guitar playing of Paul Kossoff.

In high school the plebeians liked Deep Purple, the cool clique only listened to Bad Company. It’s taken  close to 50yrs for me to forgive the band for being liked by that crowd. Sometimes it scares me how my subconscious works!?!
This band and similar bands of that decade were verboten amid my Dead Head compatriots. Now in retrospect, and relative to the present paucity of good music outside of the scourge of hip hop, Bad Company ain't bad at all.
Paul Rodgers & Jimmy Page's "Midnight Moonlight"by their band The Firm is a favorite

Here's a trivia question, everyone: What are some other songs have the same name as the band that released them? Here's one: TALK TALK - by TALK TALK Others?

"Black Sabbath"
; song name, debut album name, band name (same as Bad Co). Woo-hoo!
Yeah... I remember sitting around ... getting stoned in  high school!
Another trifecta that can be added to Bad Company & Talk Talk (although it's a bit of a stretch) is The Thorns/The Thorns/Thorns.

I agree with your assessment of the song, but I think adding the occasional radio hit is exactly what makes RP great.  Everything is fair game.  After all, what makes a hit a hit is pretty close to arbitrary.  Many back tracks on RP could have been hits that one might wish they'd not have to hear yet again.  Eclectic and diverse doesn't mean no mainstream.  It means mainstream is, like everything else, in the minority.  Because there's no majority.

Free were one of the best live bands I've seen.
Okay, I'm caught in a loop! Just heard this as well.
On/Off procedures next.
One of the great voices in rock!
Hey, I just heard this song on RP *checks watch* 17 years ago.
Cut down the rotation, man

I agree.

Nice to hear though as it reminds me of the time I spent working in mining, logging and seismic exploration camps in the mid-70s and early-80s.
Play Mott the Hoople's version of Ready for Love!

wow super flash-back man, always loved this song, fits today's overcast wet-cold, yeah Roger's gotta great sound
well, my 15 year old daughter likes it. I'm 44 and looking for new sounds but the old stuff is okay
Always liked this album and this song was a great opener.  Yes, Paul Rogers' voice was just right.

1976 - Summer in Norway, my cousin and I had this cassette (remember those?) and Led Zepplin IV and BBC and that was it.
Very good. 10.
Always thought this guy had that perfect rock voice. Takes me back.
Given all the other rock classics in the RP rotation, why should Bill overlook this one?  It has certainly stood the test of time as well as any of the Hendrix, Beatles, Floyd, Stones, Who and Zeppelin tunes that pop-up here occasionally.  I say keep mixing it up — old, new, borrowed and blue — it's what keeps me coming back to RP day after day.

Rock on!  {#Bananajam}

Another rarity:

Wilco (the band) - Wilco (the album) - Wilco (the song) !
Sometimes I think Bill plays this stuff just to stoke the forums.  I love the reactions!{#Clap}

I'm with you, martinc. And anyone willing to step in for Freddy Mercury gets my vote anyway. You go Paul!

Sure, its a classic. But I expect RP to rise above selections better suited for beer commercial soundtracks. Poor choice.

Glad to hear this on RP. :-)

Two about two notes before I managed to change to another streaming outlet.
LOL Bad Company\'s \"Bad Company\" from the album \"Bad Company.\"
Errm, not necessary. Thanks anyway.
OH NO NOT THIS!!! WHY?! I could hear this on literally hundreds of top forty FM stations (Clear Channel included). Please put a gun to its head and put us all out of our misery.
we can leave this one in the classics vault too
