Ooooh, clever segue/overlap from Emancipator's First Snow to this. I like it.

Ever since Sadness came out I'm with you.  Always liked their groove, and the segue from Emancipator's "First Snow" was seamless.

Wonderfully complex with the choral voices near the end.

Musica? Do you mean Muzak?
"The Eyes of Truth Are Always Watching You."

So is the NSA and just about every retail establishment in Europe and North America.
Is that sampling Peter Gabriel's Kiss That Frog, from 1992?

Absolutely!
The drum gimmick is definitely the same as the intro of Genesis' Dreaming While You Sleep
they were good in the days of mink de ville.

Me too. The only lame moment was including some samples from U2's Achtung baby and others that I cannot name. But the song nonetheless carries certain nostalgic and mystical mood.

The song puts me in mind of head back, eyes closed, calming before what was next in Vietnam

Even now, whenever I hear this song, I cannot help but think of The Matrix trailer, which used this track though I don't think it was in the film...
Love these guys
I love this band...meditative for sure.

Thankyou Neil, thats all I get.    Kissing frogs and a sample of some indian (not bulgarian) wailing wench.      I like it, but its not the most original and complicated piece, especialy with that build up to a few chords of electronic mellotronic orchestra.

It's the other way around. Achtung Baby was released in 1991, this in 1993.

Yeah, probably something from "Carousel".  It would probably work well with something from Gordon Lightfoot too.

Fantastic song from an outstanding album. Turn it up loud and turn off the phone; great immersive sound.

Good one Bill, thanks.
This sounds kind of cheesy

Glad I wasn't the only one. I thought maybe I was hearing things. This whole track is rather derivative... the sampling is forgivable, but this track borrows heavily from their own earlier work.

Interesting that "Achtung Baby" came out in 1991, yet this album came out in 1994. i think Enigma sampled U2, not the other way around.
You guys should stop arguing and really listen to this. It's not bad!

Never said you said "Hate this stuff". Just suggested that that as an alternative to tone deafness. Perhaps sensing some irony here?? My comment was based on the simple fact that most bands/groups/artists naturally have a "sound". I always know when Pink Floyd when I hear it, but that doesn't mean I'm going to knock them for sounding the same.

I think s/he meant all of Enigma's songs sound the same - not that Enigma sounds like Coldplay.

Hmmm... I like electronica and Steely Dan.
Noticed the U2 remark... yay! Good ears! I noticed the sample when I first heard this track years ago. Edited because I was to impatient to back scroll on the posts.
A gross ex-boyfriend always liked Enigma for certain activites. It is forever ruined now. The music, not the activities.
so who's first on this... U2 or Enigma?
Depends on what you use it for. It's awesome in a power yoga class.

Enigma...either love 'em or hate 'em. I choose the former. One of my favs of the 90's dance/electronica stuff.

I agree with all of the above. I have four of their albums and when studying or making sweet love there's something special added to either process by having Enigma playing.
the background flute sounds in all their songs the same
Totally interesting tune. Shot up to a 9. KUTGW! (Somehow LOTR-y)
I so needed that MATRIX fix.

I like the snake charmer instrument.
I've been quite a fan of Enigma despite the odd rocky patch. I find that you can't deliberately try to listen to an Enigma album. What does work quite well, especially if you're creative, is putting their albums on back-to-back as ermm... background music. Just my thoughts. Also, their first album, the one with Sadeness on it, is actually quite a good makeout album if the volume is just right (ps. The choir part did make an appearance on the DVD menus for the first releases of the Matrix film, to my knowledge)
Okay, this is totally not fair... It's 11pm my time, and for the last half hour I've been waiting to go to bed. However, I can't do that when RP keeps playing awesome songs! Please Bill,I beg you....just one crappy song? I so need my shut-eye...
Something about this song just touches a chord somewhere in my soul. Good stuff!

maybe not a 10 but 8-9. It's rated too low, so I gave 9. Why ? I simply like this kind of music :D
What distinguishes this from any of their other stuff?
Good stuff this...it is different, and played sparingly.

Yeh, Enigma shot its wad with "1990" (too lazy to use Roman numerals). I listen to this and think, "ugh."

You must not have gone far in school if you couldn't stand the sound of chalk on a chalkboard. That, or you no longer have ears. Actually, I like this stuff, at least moderately. Would I listen to it in the morning? Probably not. But in the evening, with a nice glass of wine, oh yes.
I want to live within the swirl of enigma..............brilliant absolutely brilliant!
