For the longest time I thought this was a Smithereens song. Just has their melody and guitar riffs. One of the best STP songs for sure.

There's an atmosphere to this track that I really like. I believe it's the prodding and consistent melodic bassline...that plays with the melody and harmony of the vocals. I didn't realize that this was Stone Temple Pilots. Doesn't really sound a lot like them...but versatility isn't a bad thing. Haven't heard this tune much which always fares well with me. :)

I love the STP. This song is great, and their "Purple" album is a classic, in my opinion. Great 90s pop. 
Excellent tune.
When these guys first came out, they got zero respect from me or the folks I hung out with at the time (referred to as the Stone Pimple Toilets... we were sooo mature weren't we?). But... this song completely changed my attitude about STP. Very innovative song structure and an engaging melody. I remember it was on "heavy rotation" in my head for several months.

I don't know. STP songs are like candy to me. they are really good for that few seconds of consumption but then i feel cheated afterward. they just don't have any depth to my ears.

This song is about one of the band's girlfriend=turned-wife. She left him, as you can probably tell. He was happy, needless to say, when she left. So was she. I've read that sour girl is also to be taken literally.
