I would die for you
I would die for you
I've been dying just to feel you by my side
To know that you're mine

I will cry for you
I will cry for you
I will wash away your pain with all my tears
And drown your fear

I will pray for you
I will pray for you
I will sell my soul for something pure and true
Someone like you

See your face every place that I walk in
Hear your voice every time that I'm talking
You will believe in me
And I will never be ignored

I will burn for you
Feel pain for you
I will twist the knife and bleed my aching heart
And tear it apart

I will lie for you
Beg and steal for you
I will crawl on hands and knees until you see
You're just like me

Violate all the love that I'm missing
Throw away all the pain that I'm living
You will believe in me
And I can never be ignored

I would die for you
I would kill for you
I will steal for you
I'd do time for you
I will wait for you
I'd make room for you
I'd sink ships for you
To be close to you
To be part of you
'Cause I believe in you
I believe in you
I would die for you

Sultry Shirley Manson is!
beware if you have this on in the car with few others around, you'll floor it without realising!
Garbage but certainly not trash...
Borderline Personality Disorder on display here. Beware the Bunny Boilers!
One of the best bands from the 90s
This is intense. Shirley does a kick ass job on this mix.

Yes, it is an alternate remix produced for the movie.

Hey. . . what's wrong with someone fully committed to a relationship? But I see she missed saying she would cook for me. . . so perhaps you have a point
This is one of those songs like "Inertia Creeps" that I know I shouldn't find sexy, yet I do?? I'm just going to chalk it up to the singers. Yep.
Wandering about on the internet today, I ran into Olivia Hussey & Leonard Whiting... the R&J of 1968. A far cry from this song.
stay away from girls like this!
8 - 9 on PSD as it's a h3ll of a long time since I heard this!!
This really holds up - really diggin' it at the moment.  {#Music}
I love this film. I love the lyrics and her voice. Shirley Queen of Scots. ...Great song. Thanks Bill! !!

Great feel to this one.{#Good-vibes}
Serious deep bass crunch on this one.  Nice.

Garbage - Trip My Wire (Live "Bizarre Festival" 1996)

"she (Shirley Manson) said "Bizarre, bizarre, vous avez dit bizarre ? comme c'est bizarre!", it's a dialogue from an old French movie called "Drole de Drame" in 1937 by Marcel Carné"    nickelcrome

Songwriters: Manson, Shirley Ann / Vig, Bryan David / Erickson, Douglas Elwin / Marker, Steve W

"I don't need this anymore
This is not what I came for
I won't stand for this at all
I won't see you anymore
Be easy on me
Don't trip my wire
I'm a freak and
I'm on fire
Be easy on me
Trip my wire
I'm a freak and
I'm on fire"

All I could think was, "So die already!"

I can't think of them right now, but while you're in that stage of doubt, perhaps you'll rethink the whole "dying" thing.

Unless you're sitting in a bare room with a bomb duct-taped to your chest, and the terrorist is holding the detonator, and if Garbage plays again, you're dust. Should someone call the bomb-squad in whatever city you are?

Comments about dying are NOT a good idea, considering the state of high-alert everywhere lately. I hope that you're still alive and well next time this song comes into rotation. Please post, even if it's only to say you're still alive.

We miss you so much, Cynaera...

Watched the first two episodes of "Homeland" recently...I don't consider her pretty. There's something about her face that's so wounded and she's very good at playing characters barely holding it together. Maybe she's more visually appealing in real life...

But no, this is the lead singer for Garbage, Shirley Manson.

Fits in well with the film and Shakespeare's play, though. Obsessive, all-consuming love is the central theme of the play, and of course the lovers do literally die for each other.
don't touch me there

Also - this song was used in an episode of "La Femme Nikita" - that's where I first heard Garbage. It was the perfect pairing of music with a suspenseful scene. And no, I don't live in Canada, but I would, if I could.

If I did, I don't remember it. (I would never use a chainsaw - the noise freaks me out.)  I HAVE joked about cutting off my own head, but we both know it was metaphorical.  So - point taken. {#Smile}

Still - thank you for the jolt back into reality. I worry about anyone who threatens to do bodily harm. Better to be worried than totally uncaring.  Sorry - going through a lot right now - FIV-positive cats, other cats who are sick, feral cats invading the neighborhood, total strangers hacking away at our trees because they're growing over power lines... I really hate these invasions of the world I did not invite into my realm.

I think I shall take the next three days off.  If I haven't posted a snarky comment by the 24th, rally up the Mounties (but only the cute ones, okay?) {#Bounce}

Yikes! This is creepy

Not feeling this one. Sentiment is good, but music is bringing me down.

Its good for my ears. It is even better if I don't have to endure Miss Tuma's inane comments littering the board. . .

Ooo - yet another "La Femme Nikita" classic... This was the song playing while Nikita was scoping out a lavish wedding at which a hit man was scheduled to kill the groom.  She had a clear shot of the hit man, but while she watched the guy take aim, in another place Section One was checking a possible location for a thing called "The Book" which had top-secret information.  If "The Book" was in the vault, Nikita had permission to take out the hit man before he completed his contract.  Alas, "The Book" wasn't there, so Nikita had to stand down and let the hit man kill the groom.  That show was SO ahead of its time... as was the music used throughout...{#Music}

This is by far my favorite Garbage song. Makes me think naughty thoughts.
I keep wanting to sing the line "it would have been better if we'd slept together"...sounds similar.

Seriously? Check the wiki link above but it's best known for being Butch Vig's band (producer of Nirvana's Nevermind album).
One of the best live shows I've seen.  They opened for Smashing Pumpkins.  Butch Vig knows what he's doing.
Great movie too!
DAMN I love this song!

Got DAMN!!!

Raunchy!!    {#Whipit}

Anyone ever hear Garbage do this song on the "Howard Stern Show".  Fantastic.

I just learned that Shirley Manson plays a part on the "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles".  She sure doesn't look like a teen vixen there!

Such drama.  She really just wants to meet a nice guy, quit working and have a kid or two.
Such a great song from such a terrible movie.

What an uplifting feel good song! Reminds me of sunny days and playing with puppies!
I remember going to this movie with some chic when i was in high school, i remember having a serious crush on Claire Danes after it was over- so this song does remind me of that 17 year old irrational feeling of love....
I know it has nothing to do with the song, but I thought this version of the movie was interesting in that Romeo and Juliet actually lock eyes during their death scene.

I remember it from Canada's movie called Nikita, with Peta Wilson in a leading role...you know "Josephine"...I got so into this song that I started to search it everywhere, back then it was hard to get CD's, but I managed to find a collection CD with alternative grunge hits and this song was on it!!!! Yeeeeeeeeah! Gish05 wrote:

So naughty, so good, so naughty, so good

I moved it up a point just to hear that voice in the background

This song achieves the dubious feat of being slinkily sexy and utterly tedious simultaneously.

A friend of mine was traveling in Russia and happened to catch a Garbage show in Moscow. During the show, Shirley Manson, in her thick Scottish brogue, decribed the overwhelming honor of being invited to play in such a beautiful country, and how meaninful it was to visit Red Square, etc. The next day, my friend was visiting Lenin's tomb, and happened to be within earshot of Garbage, who were getting a private tour. In stark contrast to her overenthusiastic description of Russia from the night before, Manson loudly proclaimed "I hate this f**king country, the people smell, they are thieves, I can't wait to get the f**k out of here!" Decent song though.
Great story; funny. Thanks.

Love the band. Got to meet Shirley and the boys once. They were a lot of fun to hang with. Anyone else think that this song sounds like something off of Depeche Mode's "Ultra" album?
My fiancee and I started dating when this song came out. It was always our sexy "get-in-the-mood" song. Awesome. Thanks for playing it.

This is exactly how 15 year olds feel when they've been hit by the crush truck.
I think I was 15 when this song came out! (1996) And I can almost garuntee you that I had some terrible crush at the time. If I think hard enough I could probably tell you who it was, but let's not go there, okay.
For the soundtrack of Romeo + Juliet, this song is brilliant. This is exactly how 15 year olds feel when they\'ve been hit by the crush truck. \"You will believe in me, and I will never be ignored\" is such a powerful expression of what infatuation seems to promise, and the feeling fits perfectly with the dramatic actions of the characters in the film.
Not the best Garbage-song, but thanks for playing it.

Chick has got some serious dependency issues. :) This song is great.
I like the music, not the vocal/lyric. Shirley Manson reminds me, here, of Maya\'s impersonation of Donatella Versace on SNL!
An aptly named group. #1 Crap. ... ...
Very sexy song.
Geez. Whatsamatta guys? Things a little too scary out on the edge? I love it that we've gone from "Green Onions" to this in one cup of coffee. RP: No other like it in the marketplace.
not one of my favorite garbage songs, but still damn good.
Dark and depressing... But still a great song!
Oh I completely disagree with many of the comments here. I think this song is great, one of my favorites from Garbage. It\'s sexy and a little scary, everything Shirley Manson represents. I love it.

My guess is that this is a standard in that circuit.
Looks like I\'m not the only one that thinks this band lives up to its name. GIGO as they say! :(
Never cared so much for Garbage. While this song didn\'t make me rethink that assessment, it\'s a pleasant enough tune that I wouldn\'t mind hearing once in a (great) while.
Butch Vig, the producer, did a great job with this tune. But, it would be nothing without Shirley\'s ultra-super-sexy voice.
Madison, Wisconsin\'s very own Garbage! Love \'em. Always a forceful sound.
Very cool song. I like it. Has that definate \"Garbage\" sound. (Note to band, there is no good way to say that. :D )
The producer did a very good job. It's how (alternative) rock-dance should sound, I suppose. But I'm not quite sure 'bout the song's quality and ain't that what still matters most?
