Before I was born
I got a boy child's coming
He's gonna be a son of a gun
He gonna make pretty womens
Jump and shout
Then the world wanna know
What this all about
'Cause you know I'm here
Everybody knows I'm here
Yeah, you know I'm a hoochie coochie man
Everybody knows I'm here
I got a black cat bone
I got a mojo too
I got the Johnny Concheroo
I'm gonna mess with you
I'm gonna make you girls
Lead me by my hand
Then the world'll know
The hoochie coochie man
But you know I'm here
Everybody knows I'm here
Yeah, you know I'm a hoochie coochie man
Everybody knows I'm here
On the seventh hours
On the seventh day
On the seventh month
The seven doctors said
He was born for good luck
And that you'll see
I got seven hundred dollars
Don't you mess with me
But you know I'm here
Everybody knows I'm here
Yeah, you know I'm a hoochie coochie man
Everybody knows I'm here

Absolute agreement. The so called bluesmen of today are all pale pretenders
He is coming to Vancouver island music fest in July. Thanks for those comments.

Yes, it's great
Yes, it's Johnny Winter producing and on guitar.
Funny how rating a 4 still translates as acceptable, that's not how my dutch teachers saw it in school.
Very sweet and forgiving but it means I have to give a '3' just for rather not wanting to hear something :P
Muddy Waters- I'm Your Hoochie Coochie Man
From the mercurial to the bump'n'grindial. Tasty juxtaposition.
From the previous track:"bordering on too many notes . . . ;-)"
Not a problem here.
Strom was somethin' else. He was so old that he ran for President as the States Rights Democratic Party candidate...in 1948. He was 46. His wife at the time, a former Miss South Carolina, was 22. His second wife, also a former Miss South Carolina, was 44 years younger than he was. She married him when she was also just 22. So I guess he was pretty good at the hoochie coochies
And then, of course, there was Essie-Mae Washington-Williams. Strom had his way with a housemaid in his family's employ when he was 22 and she was 16. Essie-Mae was their daughter. Strom acknowledged that he was Essie-Mae's father and helped her financially well into adulthood.
I guess it's a good thing you weren't a woman...

Strom positions himself for exercise with missionary zeal.
Lie back, ladies, and think of South Carolina.

Okay, go ahead and stone me.
Go to Colorado, you'll be stoned soon enough!
Thank you Willie Dixon.....
I caught that on PBS last week, Mick looked like he was wired out of his mind.
Is that James Cotton on harp?

Okay, go ahead and stone me.

Everybody in my hotel room loves this song...

Great jamming tune.

The Hoochie coochie was a sexually provocative dance that became wildly popular during and after the Chicago World's Fair in 1893<3>.
Since the dance was performed by women, a ‘hoochie coochie man' either watched them or ran the show. Alternatively, from the directly sexual meaning of hoochie coochie, he greatly enjoyed sexual intercourse.
This and so many other songs by Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, and other male blues artists are more full of innuendo than a Carry On film. When they weren't being miserable waking up of a morning, they surely were sex-obsessed - as they say this side of a Pond, like dogs with two dicks. Great music, juvenile cock-centric lyrics. Love old-style blues all the same, for all their strutting and boastfulness. 8 from the Nottingham jury.

Johnny's gettin' kinda old these daze too...haven't heard much from him lately...
Winter produced the album—one of three for Muddy. Long time Waters guitarist Jimmy Rogers also played on these sessions. But we're most likely hearing Winter.

thanks for this!! 90 per cent of their mind is filled with something like sexual things, whatever!!

Luckeeeeee!

Probably because you can actually put explicit sexual references in song lyrics these days. I'm no big expert on blues sexual euphemisms, but it sounds to me like this is one down 'n' dirty song boasting being a stud ready for action. These days you could sing that you've a big dick and can shag all night and no-one would bat an eyelid. Great classic blues, though. 8 from the Nottingham jury.
Too right! And there are damn few real deal bluesmen any more either! RIP Muddy...we haven't fogotten ye!
I am currently dancing around the living room pumping up for another round of monitoring in the field all day. Good stuff to start out my day thats for damn sure! Never let down by RP!
whathesaid. And it looked great on a big ol' 12" sleeve.

bluegrass? white trash? don't think so, it's just chicagoblues with the roots in countryblues.
GREAT by the way....
10! of course
Inimitable.
Are those songs about what I think they're about?
Yes.
