I have a universe inside me
Where I can go and spirit guides me
There I can ask oh any question
I get the answers if I listen

I have a healing room inside me
The loving healers there they feed me
They make me happy with their laughter
They kiss and tell me I'm their daughter
I'm their daughter

They say

You have a little voice inside you
It doesn't matter who you think you may be
You're not free if you don't know me
See I'm not the lie that lives outside you
And it doesn't matter what
You think you believe
You're not free if you don't know me
If you don't know me
See I am the universe inside you
You come to me and I will guide you
And make you happy with my laughter
I joy in seeing your my daughter
You're my daughter
So believe you're not free if
you don't know me
If you don't know me
If you don't know me
If you don't know me
If you don't know me
If you don't know me.

Sinead O'Connor, Irish musician and abuse-victim, was so incensed by Benedict's fake empathy, she wrote a fiery article for the Washington Post where she said:

"Irish Catholics are in a dysfunctional relationship with an abusive organization. The pope must take responsibility for the actions of his subordinates. If Catholic priests are abusing children, it is Rome, not Dublin, that must answer for it with a full confession and a criminal investigation. Until it does, all good Catholics... should avoid Mass. In Ireland, it is time we separated our God from our religion, and our faith from its alleged leaders."

How about following this up with "Private Idaho" to keep the theme going?
I have a universe inside me
Man, people really go to extremes over Sinead. What's the deal? Can't handle a chick who doesn't gasp and whine like a little crybaby, "think I wanna drive your Benz I don't, If I want a Rolls, I got my own..." Catchy but lame only goes so far. Sinead's not my favorite, but she gets props from me for being her own person and for pushing the envelope in every category. PS I met someone who rented a house to her once and evidently had to keep the deposit, as it took a professional crew 3 days to clean after she moved out.
I find this song simultaneously annoying and boring.

agreed! ick.
funny, with me it's the other way around :)

This is a fantastic album.

Hey now, that particular crap is classical, not new age!
I was never much of a fan of Sinead in the past, but I am growing more and more fond of her music since hearing it on RP. great stuff!
The squealy, giggling kid voice is more annoying than fingernails down a blackboard. MAKE IT STOP!
Are the vocals completely off-beat, or is it just me? And when I say 'off-beat', I don't mean wacky and zany, I mean not following the same rhythm pattern as the drum track.

Excellent tune from a sadly underrated artist. How can anyone listen to this without shivers down their spine from those harmonies?
I\'m not a Sinead fan, but often like her songs. With such a great voice, it would take an extremely weak song to make the whole effect poor. Unfortunately, this is that song... Very dull (IMHO).
Sinead is a good composer, most of the time. This new-age, sappy crap is near the bottom of her pile.
I bet MC Hammer wishes he never would have spent all that money buying a plane ticket for Sinead to go back to Ireland after that Pope incident. Now he's in the poor house and she is still talented. You lose again MC. :)
Also agreed. \"Daddy, I\'m Fine\" is a winner on this CD. Jake

This song is great. And the rest of this album too, sisn;t receive nearly enough critical acclaim. The song os long but it's great like that - it's like meditation mantra....

Nooooooooooooooooo... ...ooooo! We need more political singers. More. I love it when people sing politics rather than "he loves me and I love him" or "he hates me and I hate him". It's a nice, relevant subject change. To me, one of the very best things about a singer is that they're aware of the real world. That said, Sinead has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. She's high on my "must buy a CD from this artist" list.
Decent, but a little long
Awesome album by one of the most underrated singers of our time. Please play Daddy I\'m Fine.

Agreed. This is not one of the better songs on the album.
Sinead is an artist and a genius. Her rhythms are ancient and tribal, she chooses to work outside the envelope. Thanks for the lyrics, Columbia.
Normally I like her, but this sounds too much like \"The Last Day of our Acquaintance ...\" Where\'s the originality?
