I call you up, you pick up
You call my bluff, on the cards of love
You hold so close your hands to your chest
I can't read your eyes, but I confess
It's lonely far away from you
Even when you're right by me
It's only why I wait for you to take my hand

Why do I beg like a child for your candy?
Why do I come after you like I do I love you
Whatever you are I swear
You'll be my angel
You

I play my cards the best I can
But I lose my luck when you're not here
My darling heart, won't you please give in
I may be strong but I want you back again
When you're not here love, it's hard to pretend
It's all alright again
When you're not here love it's hard to pretend
It's all alright...still

Why do I beg like a child for your candy?
Why do I run after you like I do I love you
Whatever you are I swear
You'll be my angel
You

Watch the deck, count your cards
Makes no sense, that I'm always losing
When you're gone

Why do I beg like a child for your candy?
Why do I run after you like I do I love you
Whatever you are I swear
You'll be my angel
You

When you're gone...

Love the crunch on the rhythm guitar - and the melody catches me every time.  Love love love this song.

"Why do I beg like a child for your candy?"  Ha, great!
i usually can't STAND dave matthews to save my life. but this song is pretty okay. it's a strong 5 - which is pretty good, for me.
You can really sense the training wheels on this one. Should be an obscure B-side or something. Not sure why we're listening to it on RP.

I'm normally not too crazy about DMB, but this is a nice little tune.
Love DMB, but this song is as lively as a dead fish. :p This is one of those songs you play to end the party.
It seems like almost all my HO-HUM ratings have gone to DMB. It\'s not that I really think they deserve a 3 rating, it\'s just that the \'HO-HUM\' fits my reaction to most of their songs very well.

DMB rocks!
Too slow and sappy, DMB has many better songs than this one.
Boy...this one sure is in high rotation
I\'ll second that one, Carl - very very lifeless this music.
