She colourblind tired eyes
Her hallway aching
She'll never move him - likes it that way
He's just a walker and he'll never stop walking away
It's not too soon he said
It's not too soon at all
You might as well be dead he said
If you're afraid to fall
I said -
I know her
She said -
Why do you stare so hard
Wrapped up like a doll in bad dreams and broken arms
Make these old bones shiver
It's not too soon he said
It's not too soon at all
You might as well be dead he said
If you're afraid to fall
I said -
I know her
The last time I saw you,
You were standing in the dark
And with a freezing face,
I watched you fall apart
It's not too soon he said
It's not too soon at all
You might as well be dead he said
If you're afraid to fall
I said,
done your time
been in your place
I couldn't look you in the face
and tell you that it turns me on
it makes my stomach turn
I know her

Wackodd job, I like it 😊 Thx
Got to see them live in Vancouver in 1991 just as we were really digging that album. (Love when that happens - like the Cracker show in Winnipeg a few years later.) She was pregnant but still rocked! Wish I could remeber more of the concert
They were a good band! has a moment and then it went away.
great blast from the past.
Great song, great album !!!!

This is an expert blend of genres.
Superfluous:)
Influences of Poly Styrene and Cindi Lauper. About time for a Punk revival - why not?
lordy, that was weird. I was in the middle of reading an article about a plan to reintroduce tigers into the wild in Kazakhstan and this woman in the background starts morphing into a tiger.
Blondie ;)  6
Can't decide which I like better- the guitar riff or the snarling chorus?  :)
Sounds like Chris Whitley. Very Nice.
I'm liking this.
Favorite Throwing Muses tune. Tanya Donelly is a goddess.
Never seem to be able to play this one loud enough, but I'm going to keep trying.
LOVE! {#Bananajam} {#Dancingbanana}
chorus sounds like cat in heat fighting.
easy 7,....8?

Not sure I like it (yet) but it is an interesting song.

Another case of PSD, at least for me.
This song confuses me.

I like being confused.

Sure didn't see this track coming- but I love the sheer randomness of it!

While goofing off, I checked out his Wikipedia page and noticed this:

"In 2005 Nelson and his family hosted the first annual 'Willie Nelson & NORML Benefit Golf Tournament', leading to a cover appearance and inside interview in the January 2008 issue of High Times magazine."

Makes you wonder whether his handicap improves after lighting up...

You're welcome.  But Tanya gets the credit for this one.

Hello RP-Listeners!

I wish all of you "MERRY CHRISTMAS",
wherever you are - whoever you wanna be!

Christmas is a sweet-naive tradition -
not a religious event!

I like it anyway!

Still - I hope Bill takes the chance
to rock the christmas-tree to pieces tonight!

"Happy Christmas
your "BAD SANTA",
aka STINGRAY
-from Cologne/Germany-
PS
Sermon of the day (promise: I'm serious):

The "Three Wise Men" - Melchior, Balthasar + Caspar
are buried in a golden sarcophage in"our" dome, the famous
"Cologne dome" - the third highest church-building
in the world - right in the very centre of town, next to the Rhine.
A gothic building of extra-class!

sounds like a Go-Go's rip off.... lame

I prefer to use a catapult for mimes — that way you don't have to grab around those invisible boxes that they protect themselves with.

Good tune - Tanya Donnely and Kristin Hersh.
...way way way way catchy!..

I was convinced it was Liz Phair til I checked the playlist.

Nice one!  I heard this song years ago, really liked it but could never remember who it was.  Thanks RP!
This album remains one of my favorites.  One gem after another all the way through.
Gorsh!  What a pleasant surprise.    Put "Two Step (from the same album)" into circulation, and you will have truly moved beyond anything I could hope to hear on Ye Olde FM wireless radio contraption.
This song goes from good to great when she repeats the synth sound with her voice. That part makes the song.
I agree with the Liz Phair/Bangles analogy, but... Heart?? wft?? trempel wrote:

What's wrong with the Go-Go's? I have a hard time listening to RP at work any more, I listen too closely and don't get any work done! I need to find that smooth jazz channel zzzzzzzzzzzz
Go-go's revisited. 'nuff said. (but I kinda like it too)
:bounce: This one incorporates some of the Sixties all-girl bands (singers only) with grit and cool.

best of the Throwing Muses
Is this a Liz song that I've not heard?
YEAH! Love this! :dancingbanana_2:
Great tune
Who says there's anything wrong with a little 3-chord pop music every once in a while?

This sounds like Broken Social Scene. Well, Broken Social Scene sounds like this.
Very nice, like to hear more Muses.
So I'm looking at some interesting forum posts, but they aren't a 100th as interesting sa this cool super-rockin' piece of bliss. Great fun.  :guitarist:
Must bop feet and tap head.

Follow-up a few months later...interesting that I seem to like everything I hear from the Muses (going way back) yet really don't care for Kristin Hersh, who's getting play here as well. Odd?

So laden with positive associations...ahh, the memories!...that I just can't help but love it. Upbeat and infectious -- one of my fave tracks of all time.

Ah, Tanya Donnely's only measurable contribution to Throwing Muses. Kristen Hersh is this band. Always was, always will be.

Hey! I just pulled this CD out the other day. Great. I wish I'd been able to see them. BUt at least I got to see Belly free at the Santa MOnica pier. Great Show. How about some Mary's Danish?
for a minute, I thought my cat was up to no good.
Cool track from a cool album...
My question is...how does this sound like Liz Phair? This song came first. :p I love Throwing Muses, but I think this is one of their weaker tracks -- which isn\'t to say it\'s bad, but there are definitely more interesting songs out there. I doubt I\'ll ever see the day that someone calls \"Vicky\'s Box\" bubblegum pop. ;)
one of the few great songs from the 80\'s
Her Belly stuff is much better but alas! at least this isn\'t another crappy Dave Mathews song!
Yes, most of the stuff from the 80s did suck. This is no exception.
YES! One of their best!
What\'s sad is if you compare this nonsense with today\'s pop garbage, this stands out as if it\'s some kind of outstanding work. Pretty pathetic huh?

Great stuff. Maybe some Belly and Pixies to really take me back.
Sounds like she\'s been hanging around with Liz Phair quite a bit! But I\'d still do her

Play more Belly , It shows Tanya Donnelly\'s real talent. BTW my wife went to school with most of the members of Belly in Rhode Island including Tanya
