Feel the weight i've been passing time
All those crazy faces run through my mind
And that song has brought a teardrop to my eye
Can't tell the bottle from the mountain top
No we're not right

I see this world but I can't relate
Hey that everything must accelerate
Betty Ford oh won't you be my valentine
Can't tell the bottle from the mountain top
No, we're not right

------------instrumentals---------------------

Can't tell the bottle from the mountain top
And now my hands are shaking
But i just can't stop
Can't tell the bottle from the mountain top
No we're not right

Can't tell the bottle from the mountain top
And now my knees are shaking
But I just can't stop
Can't tell the bottle from the mountain top
No we're not right

When I'm weak and my head is sore
And I feel like I can't go on no more
I come in here where normal rules do not apply

Can't tell the bottle from the mountain top
No we're not right
Can't tell the bottle from the mountain top
No we're not right
Can't tell the bottle from the mountain top
No we're not right

Yeah Yeah
Yeah Yeah

Interesting that you mention the sounds from a car as on a few tracks you can hear traffic sounds coming in from an open window. Agreed that this is not the greatest song on this album; however, good song nonethless. iTuner wrote:
Too true That bass kick sounds like the boom box cars that roll down the street sounding like crap on the outside
i'm here to give some love to this song - i can't believe all the negative comments on the bass and "theremin" ... it's what makes it great!

A nice album but maybe not the best track.
Agreed. Great album! The title track is a beauty.
A nice album but maybe not the best track.

Ah one of my fav. David Gray tracks. Haven't heard this one in over a year..
Maybe inspired, but not too inspiring, though I dig the style and the kinda mood this song has got, it doesn\'t really get to me. But listening to it a few times more, can work wonders.
Sounds like a poor man\'s Ryan Adams on this track. Like much of his other stuff but I\'m just not feelin\' this one... What\'s up with the keyboard solo that wants to be a theramin solo?
I agree that this is one of the weaker tracks on a great album. On the album it serves as a nice change of pace, but it doesn\'t hold up that great on its own. I\'d love to hear some other stuff, including his cover of Hello Goodbye which I bet will surprise a lot of folks who haven\'t heard much of him.
This is one of the weaker tracks on the record. As a whole however, the album is great. My Oh My and Sail Away are my favorites.
I agree, not very interesting. What really bothers me though is the cheesy electronics.
I guess I don\'t get it either... pretty boreing.
I wish I could get this guy, but to me, he just sounds like boring same old, same old. I just don\'t get the attraction...
