Saw the re-formed Zippers last year in Berkeley on their Hot anniversary tour and they Blew the Lid Off It! They were at the start of a year long tour, but I don't know how they could have lasted more than a week at that level of frenzy. Thoroughly enjoyable.

right?  I was totally in the Swing revival in the late 90s, something so cool about the genre, the dancing, the wallets on chains, that goes well with the single malts I like to drink (neat of course, if it's good stuff)

And then recently my wife said her bro's g/f was a guest accordionist for some band 'squirrel something' and I was like "the Squirrel Nut Zippers!!?!!" and the fact I knew the band was way cool (although my wife thinks I'm cool all the time, so no biggie there) ....too bad I wasn't down in Austin for those shows!!

 Bonedaddys?! Three huzzah for the Bonedaddies and their era of World Party Music! SNZ appreciated also. Saw them at Blue Note Honolulu earlier this year for a chill evening.

Yeah! Saw the Bonedaddys play a legendary show at Al's Bar (4th and Traction, downtown LA) in the late '80s and again at The Ruby Room in Denver in the early '90s. "World Party Music" was how they described their sound. Truly fantastic memories, wild times!
SNZ rock it well and very old-school style in this, love it!

I just love these dorks - they're so much fun, but they've got such talent, too - vocals, incredible instrumentals, and that quirky, devilish, tongue-in-cheek humor. They take risks not many artists would take, and they don't underestimate their listening audience. That's so cool... {#Music}

Sure - haven't you ever known an ugly hot chick? She's the one that isn't all that physically attractive, but she's just so damn cool that she's hot anyway. I've dated a couple - they make very high quality, low maintenance girlfriends. SNZ have taken a bunch of very derivative elements and come up with something thoroughly original. And timely, too, if you ask me - right about the time Hot came out, it was just the right thing. Clearly that's born out in the way their popularity skyrocketed at the time. For my part, I'm totally psyched to hear SNZ on RP any time, and this entire album is excellent!

I wonder if, perhaps, it's possible that you get that impression from the band's "whole package" image, in other words, the fact that they seem to dress the part. I can see that. In their defense, I've seen them live, and they pulled out all the stops and just blazed their set. It seems like that would be difficult with anything shy of authenticity.
