Well, I sure take it with me wherever I go
And you might like to see it but it never does show
Like a wind in the valley that never does blow
Like the grass in the back that you never did mow
It's a black sky formin' on the ridge
It's a woman waitin' standin' on the bridge
It's the price that you pay for walkin' on the ledge
It's everything you do and nothin' that you did
Well, you might see me drivin' in the wrong side of town
And you might see me shinin' when the rain's comin' down
Like a diamond that's hidin' in the lost and found
Like a coon that's runnin' from a red bone hound
It's a black sky formin' on the ridge
It's a woman waitin' standin' on the bridge
It's the price that you pay for walkin' on the ledge
It's everything you do and nothin' that you did
Well, the wood keeps burnin' in the old wood stove
And the cows keep goin' where they done been drove
And a light keeps glowin' in a dead man's cove
And a loom keeps spinnin' where the weave gets wove
It's a black sky formin' on the ridge
It's a woman waitin' standin' on the bridge
It's the price that you pay for walkin' on the ledge
It's everything you do and nothin' that you did

Lyrically genius! SOO easy to really get into it!
I'm reading Glyn Johns' autobiography Sound Man and yesterday was reading about his recording the Ozarks. I hadn't heard them for forty years and yet, thanks to RP, here they are - good sychrony!
I just thought of how oddly the voices reminded me of Zappa and the Mothers, and in chime Little Feat.
Pure RP magic.
Pure RP magic.
WOW . . . . wasn't expecting to hear these guys on RP. Awesome 7o's band. More please Bill!

Love the whole album. Beginning to end, a solid 10.

I was also quite surprised, but then I wondered, "Does Bill know the best song by ever band"? I only knew the radio cuts of this band that were played back in the day, and I disliked all of those as I remember. This was pretty good.
I must say I was rather shocked when I saw OMD on Radio Paradise. But then, this is a pretty cool song.

Now this tune sends me back time...
