Some days are diamonds
Some days are rocks
Some doors are open
Some roads are blocked

Sundowns are golden
Then they fade away
And if I never do nothin'
I'll get you back some day

'Cause...

CHORUS:
You got a heart so big
It could crush this town
And I can't hold out forever
Even walls fall down

And all around your island
There's a barricade
It keeps out the danger
It holds in the pain

And sometimes you're happy
Sometimes you cry
Half of me is ocean
Half of me is sky

But... Chorus

Yes, they do.
Oh!

And some things are over
Some things go on
And part of me you carry
Part of me is gone

But... Chorus
Baby... Chorus

Yeah, I guess they do
Yes, they do
They fall down

Yeah, "time to time" ... like twice per album.  I am envious of Mr. Petty's ability to craft nice, pleasant hooks, and of his ability to craft arrangements that maximize the hook's exposure.

its been awhile since I've heard this song and even longer since I've seen the movie...Time to dig a copy up and give a viewing.
Good soundtrack to a fun movie.

Love TP, but not this one. The lyrics seem so maudlin and forced.
Well this is pleasant surprise, I have never(knowingly) heard this song before. 8
I really like the chord progression in the chorus....
Overplayed on commercial radio. Here it falls into a nice Monday Morning mix...
I guess it's not the sole ingredient but the mix that makes the well balanced meal...

Not bad, but commercial radio really killed this one for me.

This is the first time I have heard this. Was it popular at some point? I love Tom but this is not calling me. . . 3.
Personally prefer the other version of Walls on this album.
excellent song. Saw Tom Petty some 20 years ago in Lugano Switzerland with Bob Dylan, great concert
Just saw TP live at PNC in NJ. He\'s the real deal -- pure rock and roll, and knows how to project a good time, even in an arena.
Tom kicks ass. I can\'t help but feel happy when I hear his tunes. :p

Good selection from the Petty playlist.
