Why drink the water from my hand,
Contagious as you think I am?
Just tilt my sun towards your domain,
Your cup runneth over again...

Don't scream about - Don't think aloud
Turn your head, now baby, just spit me out
Don't worry about - Don't speak of doubt
Turn your head, now baby, just spit me out

Why follow me to higher ground,
Lost as you swear I am?
Don't throw away your basic needs,
Ambiance and vanity...

Don't scream about - Don't think aloud
Turn your head, now baby, just spit me out
Don't worry about - Don't speak of doubt
Turn your head, now baby, just spit me out

December promise you gave unto me
December whispers of treachery
December clouds are now covering me
December songs no longer I sing

Don't scream about - Don't think aloud
Turn your head, now baby, just spit me out
Don't worry about - Don't speak of doubt
Turn your head, now baby, just spit me out

Don't scream about - Don't think aloud
Turn your head, now baby, just spit me out
Don't worry about - Don't speak of doubt
Turn your head, now baby, just spit me out

Saw collective soul at The Opera House in Toronto March 1 97    Fantastic show -  and a great venue for that matter
Stands the test of time.  This song still rocks and resonates.  Says something.
I remember buying this CD before going on a business trip, and listening to it on the flight.   The whole album is very strong.
Outstandingly good!
Collective Soul, to me, sounds a whole lot like the Foo Fighters, so much so that I still confuse them from time to time. That's not a bad thing in this case, as I enjoy both bands. :-)

Matthew 6:2 When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do–blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get.

If you weren't listening, how do you know it was overplayed?

Come on, I dare you to tell me that after each verse you didn't "waihmp, waihmp, waihmpwaihmpwaihmp, waihmp, waihmp, waihmpwaihmpwaihmp"  along with the guitar motif when this came on the radio back in the day. Maybe even still today, I ain't judgin'.

Song gets more disgusting on every play.
It rocks......
Usually I disagree when someone says a song can be ruined for all eternity by too much airplay.  This is the exception.  It wasn't that great to begin with, but with every 13-18 year old boy snickering in the background every time this got played on the radio every other hour of every day for five years (yes, I was one of them the first few plays), I'm ready to not hear it ever again.
I've anna be a twin to you very day.
I don't get why so many people diss this band. They're not genius, but really good, IMO.
This song was in my head non-stop for no less than 6 weeks straight back in 1995. Kind of hoping that I'm able to avoid a repetition of that mind-loop after this blast from the past.

I remember C.S. performing this song on the Today show. Completely out of place and both Bryant Gumble (host at the time) and the rest of the crowd of 60 somethings just standing around Not getting it. Ive never heard this song the same way since. eh.....

Kinda like Marty McFly and The Pinheads auditioning for the faculty in "Back To The Future."

YUCK !!!!
When they played this for us last Thursday night in Boulder, there wasn't a dry eye in the whole rocking place...SOLID POETIC JAM!
Classic.

I agree... they're outstandingly listenable = quite likeable.  I love hearing this tune but it's not something enjoy hearing frequently, and it's catchy yet plodding, or maybe plodding but catchy.

I'm good for at least three months if not more.  But pick it up once in a while.
Oh, yeah...always a fantastic rush to hear this...I was over in the wilds of Ishikawa, Japan when these guys burst onto the music scene, and I first heard of them on a rental car stereo while on vacation in Guam, and that was "Shine" from their Hints, Allegations and Things Left Unsaid...Drove straight to a mall shop there and bought it...Every song on that album absolutely blew me away! and then when I got back to Noto, I stocked up on them, and kept up, too...saw them in Boulder in 2001 -- what a show! and I find that even their latest stuff is still really tight and rocking. What a great band; it's sad so many got turned off by Clear Channel locking in their evil, narrow Tune-Loops instead of actually selecting and playing songs, A NOBLE ART which makes BILL & REBECCA & RP MY ALL-TIME RADIO HEROES!

Love it.  Probably one their best songs.

Uh, probably in Lille. Or another city in France.

This song is absolutely superb.

I am a big music snob, and I have to say this is a very good song.  From the first time I heard it back in the 90s, I thought "wow, they really put a lot of work in that song, and it is good".
Always liked this band.  This isn't their best song but it's still a good one.  I also really liked their song Perfect Day which had Elton John signing with them.

Rather, a good song in a time of bad FM radio... C'mon they're not that bad and they can't help it that the CC boys played the ass off it,  I actually bought a couple of their albums based on the promise of songs like this.

They did one of the best live shows I've seen: Toronto, late 90's, last night of a tour and they were demob-happy. Great energy, loose vibe, they came out for the encore wearing Leafs shirts and played "Crazy Train"!
Love this song. Like a lot of Collective Soul, actually. sorry they overplayed it, but still deserves to be heard.
These guys are very talented songwriters, I just don't like any of their songs.
This reminds me of bad FM radio
Reminds me of my two-year-old son blasting this song from his little Fisher-Price tape player, grooving around the house {#Jump}
Collective Soul was one of the most outplayed band of the 90s. At the time it felt like being force fed crap.
I remember C.S. performing this song on the Today show. Completely out of place and both Bryant Gumble (host at the time) and the rest of the crowd of 60 somethings just standing around Not getting it. Ive never heard this song the same way since. eh.....
Yay! Thank you!
Brings back memories...some sad, others happy...like life.  But it sure is GOOD to hear it here on RP today...
Betcha the next time we hear this is Leap Day 2016. {#Lol} Great song from a very good album.

Top#3 CS song...
Dang, been a long time since this one made the rotation. I liked this back in the day, and it's been many a year since I heard it.  Thumbs up.
great, great song from one of the top ten albums of the 90's. period.
