Yeah, I'm going down
Going down, down, down, down, down
I'm going down
Going down, down, down, down, down
Got my big feet,
Hanging on to the ground
Don't let me down,
Close that boxcar down
Don't let me down,
Close that boxcar down
I'm going back

That vocal is so far back in the mix as to be almost non existent.
LEGEND
I’m not sure if I’m the only one, but I’m starting to feel/hear a theme going on today.... go vote
Love me some JJ
Mr. Cale has always captured the essence of his influences. I think this is why Eric C. gravitated to J.J. Cale. Clean and pure blues, with no conflict about whether he is black enough, or whatever. J.J. Cale understood the meaning of it all, and made it right and obvious. He educated us, who weren't as unfortunate, about this deep and great music --  no such thing as white-mans's blues; there's only blues.
Question for my fellow RP listeners, has bill played any christine lakeland?
And then there is the Jeff Beck Group version.  It's a little more lively:

Got to be the shortest lyrics for any song.

I like the lyrics listed on Focus' track titled Hocus Pocus, which show:

(Instrumental -- well, except for the yodeling...)

This JJ tune is an 8, Long Live RP!!

JJ's laid-back style influenced a lot of players, including Mr. K.

Not to mention Clapton's slow hand period~!

He was a minimalist, in lyrics and "beats".  You can never miss the sound of a J.J. Cale tune, just laid back.  I'm there.

I usually like his style but this is bit too spare for me...

I was thinking I had never heard this on RP.  And now I see why.  It says here this is the first time playing it on RP.  Do love J.J.  Didn't realize he had done this song.
