Overplayed in the day but still a great song. GGD are a cool example of how Westerberg influenced the music of that time.

I had forgotten how greatly produced this track is. Was it produced this incredible way by itself in the Goo's album or was it by Gabriel Yared before it is included in the movie soundtrack?

If ever I was forced to listen to commercial radio, I could easily forgive those robots, er, I mean DJ's for playing this song. I guess what I'm trying to say is I kinda like this song. Oops!

Like Alanis's 'Uninvited', this one is listed as being from "The Crow-City of Angels" soundtrack when it's just on the City of Angels Soundtrack... or even more accurately, on the Goo's album Dizzy Up the Girl. I know step down from my anal retentive soapbox.

Yeah, this wasn't an especially remarkable song to begin with. Then commercial radio pounded it into the ground. "Uninvited" from Alanis off the same soundtrack is excellent though.

This was a pivotal time in the Goo\'s career. Plagued with writer\'s block, \'Iris\' was penned for the City of Angels soundtrack and became a huge, unexpected hit for the band. As a result, many other groups followed with the Replacements-style influence the Goo Goo Dolls hit it so hard with. This may be good or bad depending on your views, but it did catapult the Goos to unimaginable heights. And that\'s just what they needed at that point in their career. Over played or not, this was a phenominal song when it took the charts (and the Grammy Awards) by storm in 1998. Cheers, Blarg.

I have to pretty much agree with everyone else and say this song has been played WAY TOO MUCH everywhere. I\'m pretty sick of it.

I use to love these guys...when I went to school back in Buffalo you could see them in a bar for $7 & the music was good & they played their balls off. The more recent stuff has been marginal at best...I agree when everybody who says the earlier stuff is better...check out James Dean or their cover of Prince's Never Take the Place of Your Man (with the Incredible Lance Diamond on lead vocals)... I am glad to see that they have become big stars, but I'll always long for the old days... ...and yes, I just callled 1-666-666-6666, the Dark Lord's personal assistant did confirm this track is in very heavy rotation... :p

Yeah, maybe a bit overplayed, but that doesn\'t make it a bad song. There\'s so much feeling in this guy\'s voice - gives me chills. He\'s got the guts behind the voice that reminds me of the way Peter Gabriel attacks a song. Great! Wonderful climax to the song, as well - takes the listener right along with it.

i just heard a survey the other day, done by some magazine on the most annoying songs of all time. this made #3. i just heard the top ten and there were some i thought weren\'t that bad. number 10 was van morrisson \"brown eyed girl\"... number 1 was by the proclaimers \"i\'m gonna be (1000 miles)\". i agree with josh, way back... the goo\'s were better- way back. listen to \"fallin\' down\" or \"we are the normal\" off super star car wash and see if you agree.
