You know, when "Jagged Little Pill" came out, I enjoyed the hell out of it. So it must have some good qualities, but "timeless" just isn't one of them. I can't listen to her now without cringing, and this song is one of the worst.

Ditto.
A jagged little pill for the ear.

I missed all the hype when she went big time with all the hits, the Grammys, etc. I'm usually not into that nonsense, and usually detest most popular music. But I recently starting spinning this CD after borrowing from the local library, and it has turned into one of my favorite albums.
Two women performers in a row (Lucinda, then Alanis) who have quirks in their vocal style. I think Lucinda's is less pronounced, and therefore IMO, less bothersome. (I like both Lucinda and Alanis, BTW.)
I'd like to welcome Alanis as one of America's newest citizens!
I hate this song. But then I hate all her songs.

My thoughts exactly
You know, when \"Jagged Little Pill\" came out, I enjoyed the hell out of it. So it must have some good qualities, but \"timeless\" just isn\'t one of them. I can\'t listen to her now without cringing, and this song is one of the worst.
I had a child in her late teens when this came out and I always thought that Alanis did an excellent job speaking to that generation with this song. Besides, I like the cut also and don't believe that it's inappropriate for RP at all.
You live; you learn...that Alanis is not so bad.
So what's wrong with hearing a song that was played on "corporate radio"? What about all the classics that Bill plays? Most of them were played at one time on "corporate radio" and that's where we heard them for the first time. In regards to this song....not one of her best, but not too bad. Patti M. 8^)
Weird. 8O Never expected this on RP. I think it's OK, though.
She\'d sound better if her head was in her pocket! I know when I hear her my hand is flippin a bird! :??:
I have respect for this artist but this song makes me wanna :puke: . sorry!
Finally, a song that I feel like I have heard so many times on the radio that I don't need to hear it here.
Eh, ok. I kind of like Alanis I just don\'t want to admit it. A solid 7.
Looking back on it, her music probably isn\'t that bad. In 1995/6, though, you couldn\'t listen to the radio for more than 15 minutes without hearing one of her songs, which was annoying as hell. Worse, I worked with a guy that liked to sing her songs full-throat. In the same room with me. All day long. Over and over. For months on end.
I'll probably get lynched around here. BUT I LOVE THIS SONG. THANK YOU BILL. This is one of my 3 favorite Alanis songs.
:verymad:
no no no no no no no no Alanis. Bad Bill; --d
